With the gray sky overhead and the dusty road, I could finally stop and stand at the familiar and unfamiliar alleyway. I knew that with one more step, I would return to the "origin" of my life—the old alley that had nurtured me since I was born. The old alley full of Xiguan style gave me the first lesson of my life.

Stepping on the bluestone road, I slowly stepped into the depths of the alley. What comes into view is the long-lost Xiguan Old House. In front of the crimson wading gate is a three-level shallow stone staircase, and the cat of a family is lazily lying on the stone steps, enjoying the gentle sunshine before noon. Occasionally, when a breeze blows, the old cat gently strokes the beard on his face with his front paws, makes a "meow" sound, and then rolls and falls into a deep sleep. I know that this is the leisure and tranquility that can only be found in the depths of the hustle and bustle of the big city. And the beginning of my life began in this piece of peace.

After passing through the door, the wooden door that had been hidden was opened. In the faint light of the room, I saw my gray-haired grandfather lying in a rocking chair reading the newspaper. Suddenly, a small leather ball "booed" on the rocking chair, and then a child who was only about two years old walked upside down to the rocking chair and grabbed the corner of Grandpa's clothes: "Grandpa, ball!" The old man took off his glasses, got up with a smile, took the child into his arms, and whispered, "Oh, where is the ball?" Is it here? No! yes...... Over here! Just listening, a brass bell-like laughter came into my ears, and I seemed to see that my grandfather, who had long passed away, had also hugged me like this. Yes, in the first few years of my life, this old alley did carry countless care from relatives, the unique warmth of Xiguan people.

Manchurian windows, green tiles, ancient banyan trees, more and more scenery hit my visual membrane, but also knocked on my heart. Suddenly, however, a faded red but glaring word "demolition" appeared on the wall of my old house. This word "demolition" is so inconsistent with the surrounding scenery and the peaceful atmosphere around it. At this time, we woke up: as early as eleven years ago, this old alley had been included in the scope of demolition, that is, the "origin" of my life would be erased.

Tears poured out of my eyes without controversy, and I wanted to scream: This alley cannot be demolished, it cannot be demolished! It is not only the place where I was born, but also the place where my gentle character was nurtured, and it was also the first beginning for me to feel the warmth of the world. Every flower, grass, brick and tile here is the beginning of the formation of Lingnan culture. To tear down this place is to destroy my roots, to destroy the roots of hundreds of old neighborhoods in Guangzhou! But who will hear such a cry? The origin of life, the origin of culture and the rapid development of the economy, seem to have become small compared with the edifice that rises from the ground.

This night, I dreamed of the old alley that I had been missing for a long time - the difference was that when I returned to the "origin" of my life this time, the red word "demolition" was gone.

This is an argumentative essay. From a first-person perspective, the article writes "I" back to what I saw and felt in the old house of Xiguan, where the "first lesson of life" was conceived, and integrates the "origin" of personal life with the "origin" of Lingnan culture, telling about my own life experience and understanding.

With soothing and tender brush and ink, the author carefully paints the two scenes of the old cat sleeping lazily and the grandchildren enjoying each other, highlighting the "leisure and tranquility" of the old alleys in the depths of the hustle and bustle of the big city, pouring out the childhood memories engraved in the heart, and the nostalgic warmth and the bluestone slab road, the chu li gate, the ancient banyan tree and so on in front of the Xiguan old house are interpenetrated, constituting a beautiful scenery with long affection and rich historical heritage, which is in sharp contrast with the following pen sharply describing the situation of the old house about to be demolished. The author then pointed out that demolishing the old house "is to destroy my roots, that is, to destroy the roots of many old neighborhoods in Guangzhou", expressing a strong view of "returning to the original point" and deepening the theme of the article.

The article describes "returning to the origin" from two levels: "returning to" the old alley, and imagining the "dream back" old alley; the "origin" of personal birth and childhood, and the "root" of Lingnan culture, which is cleverly conceived and profound. Although it is difficult for the author of the article to make a more dialectical analysis of the requirements of the development of the modern economy and the problem of "finding roots" back to the original point, on the whole, this is already a very good examination essay.
