In the Erxuan Cultural and Art Space in Minhang District, Shanghai, the exhibition of calligraphy and paintings of Zhou calligrapher Kong Xianghong is "At Ease and Peace of Mind". The calligraphy and painting works on display are bold in pen and ink, rich in color, and unique in painting style.
The exhibition is guided by the Shanghai Minhang District Culture and Tourism Bureau, sponsored by the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Tourism and Sports, Zhejiang Province, and the Taizhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and co-organized by the Taizhou Artists Association and the Calligraphers Association.
Kong Xianghong studied under He Shuifa, a famous flower and bird painter from Zhejiang, and Le Zhenwen, a well-known landscape painter on the sea, and successively received the true biography of two famous calligraphers and painters in Zhejiang and Shanghai. In Le Zhenwen's view, from Kong Xianghong's artistic expression, we can see the poetry of life.
Five years ago, Kong Xianghong ran from Taizhou to Shanghai to find Le Zhenwen and set up a banquet for the teacher. She said, "Master, I want to learn the spirit of art and humanism from you. Le Zhenwen later said: "I don't think I can teach her anything." The artistic expression elements in her body are unique to her, and she does not have to be bound by tradition, does not have to be bound by the expression of traditional techniques, and hopes that she will not be confused and insist on listening from her heart. ”
Kong Xianghong always looks for the answer to life in her paintings. "We can understand the beauty of art in multiple dimensions of life, which brings a lot of fun to ourselves." She began studying calligraphy and painting at the age of nine, majored in Chinese literature at university, and liked to write prose and poetry. "The love of poetry, books and paintings has become a habit in my life. The joys and sorrows of life are all expressed in the form of poems, books, and paintings. Kong Xianghong said.
While drawing a group of paintings, she used to write a poem, accompanied by a recital of the soundtrack poem or a piece of empathic music. "Let the painting no longer be a silent work. I even stubbornly believe that only such a comprehensive presentation is the complete work I want to express. ”
Among the more than 50 calligraphy and painting works on display, there are also many works of poetry, calligraphy and painting. Over the years, she has been trying to unify her poetry, painting and music. She said: "I hope to be able to present a work in multiple dimensions. My poems, my paintings, and the music I find are inseparable pieces. When others see my work, I hope that they will enjoy the different artistic beauty brought about by the cultural common experience from the appreciation of the work. ”
She paints Chinese paintings and also oil paintings, mostly with freehand and abstraction as the main means of expression, especially like to paint lotuses. Her lotuses are varied and colorful. This time in Shanghai, many works are also lotuses.
The theme of the exhibition "Ease and Peace of Mind" expresses the painter's free and open-minded attitude towards life, and also reflects her unique insights in the art of calligraphy and painting and her romantic painting style.
