First taste of sweetness planting with confidence

Lin Chengyi is a poor household with a record of lika, and has now achieved stable poverty alleviation. A few years ago, Lin Chengyi worked part-time to survive, and then due to lumbar muscle strain and bone hyperplasia, he could not do heavy physical work, so he returned home to recuperate and take care of his father and children who had been bedridden for many years due to illness. Lin Chengyi's wife took up the burden of the family's livelihood and barely made ends meet by growing corn and rice and raising livestock and poultry.

In 2017, the help cadres combined with the actual situation of Lin Chengyi's family and provided suggestions for them to develop the pepper industry. In that year, Lin Chengyi transferred 16 acres of land to plant pepper trees.

In the summer of 2019, the pepper trees planted by Lin Chengyi were put into production for the first time, and the sales amount reached 16,000 yuan.

"Although the income is not high, it sold more than 10,000 yuan in the first year, which surprised me." As management technology improves, production increases and revenue increases. Lin Chengyi said.

At the end of 2019, Lin Chengyi applied for a poverty alleviation microcredit of 50,000 yuan, purchased pepper drying equipment, and built a pepper drying room to improve the efficiency of pepper roasting and reduce labor costs.

Group development and sales are guaranteed

The labor demand for peppercorns is small, but it requires management skills. Lin Chengyi inquired from many sources and learned that Zhang Silun, a large pepper grower in Qixin Village, Longqiao Street, not only had rich experience in planting peppercorns, but also built a mature sales network. Therefore, he joined the WeChat group established by Zhang Silun to exchange pepper cultivation, and achieved group development with other pepper growers.

"Everyone exchanged planting and management experience in the group, which helped me improve the technical level of pepper tree management and protection, and let me slowly get started from scratch." Compared with traditional crops, planting peppercorn trees has high economic benefits, low labor intensity, and no worries about sales, which is very suitable for the actual situation of our family. With the increase of pepper production, our family's economic income will gradually increase, and I am full of confidence in moving towards a well-off life. Lin Chengyi said.
