On November 13, 1990, Liu Yongxue and Tian Zhifen went to work as usual, and their 2-year-old son Liu Qingzheng was handed over to his grandmother to take care of. Liu Yongxue, who came home from work, did not see the child, and his mother told him that the child and his classmate "Xiao Wang" went out to buy things, and the two had a lot of fun together in the morning, and "Xiao Wang" also bought some snacks for his grandson.
However, Liu Yongxue did not have any male classmates surnamed Wang as his mother said. After realizing that their son might have been abducted, the couple and their friends and family immediately looked around, but there was still no news. At about 8 p.m. that night, Liu Yongxue, who had unsuccessfully searched for his son, reported the case to the Longquan Police Station of the Dongbao Branch of the Jingmen City Public Security Bureau.
After receiving the police, the Longquan police station immediately reported to the higher department, and the criminal investigation brigade of the sub-bureau reported to the criminal investigation detachment of the Jingmen City Public Security Bureau and issued a co-investigation notice, and at the same time organized a large number of police forces and relevant staff to help find the missing child and file a case for investigation.

According to the police of the special case group of the Dongbao Public Security Sub-bureau, at that time, the scientific and technological means were relatively backward, and due to the restrictions of conditions, the special case team also rushed to Hunan, Henan, Anhui, guangdong in multiple batches, including more than 10 prefectures, cities and prefectures in the province to find out, and there has been no result.
In the days that followed, Liu Yongxue and Tian Zhifen never gave up looking for their son. For 31 years, the police never gave up the investigation of the case. In the "reunion action", measures were further strengthened and comparison was intensified. In addition, the criminal investigation technology department of the Jingmen City Public Security Bureau also promptly collected blood samples of Liu Yongxue and Tian Zhifen, entered the DNA information of the two into the "anti-abduction DNA system", and also entered the information of the missing child Liu Qingzheng into the national public security organs to find the abducted/missing children information system.
On November 30, 2021, Liu Yongxue and Tian Zhifen's DNA information was compared to Zhang Mou, a suspected abductee in Luoyang City, Henan Province. On December 9, the special police of the Dongbao Public Security Bureau rushed to Yichuan, Henan Province, to review this information, and found Zhang's "adoptive father" to further understand the situation, confirming that Zhang Mou, who was working in Guangzhou, that is, Liu Yongxue and Tian Zhifen's abducted son Liu Qingzheng 31 years ago. On December 10, the police handling the case rushed to Guangzhou to take Zhang back to Jingmen, Hubei Province.
"For 31 years, we have not given up, and the police said that when the child was found, we really wanted to go to Luoyang to see the child immediately."
