In order to jointly promote the construction and standardized prevention and treatment of deep vein thromboembolism (VTE) among women and children, exchange relevant experience, and improve the overall diagnosis and treatment capacity and level of VTE in hospitals, on the morning of December 12, the launching conference of Fujian Women's and Children's VTE Prevention and Treatment Specialty Alliance was held in Fujian Provincial Maternity Hospital. Representatives of 75 units, including Fujian Funeng Group General Hospital, Longyan People's Hospital, Sanming Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital, Nanping Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and Xianyou County Maternal and Child Health Hospital, attended the meeting.
It is understood that VTE, including pulmonary embolism (DVT) and deep vein thrombosis (PE), is a common disease of hospitalized patients, is an important cause of unintended death in hospitals, and is an important health care problem that seriously endangers people's health. Among them, pregnant women are at high risk of developing VTE, and the increase in the composition of VTE in maternal deaths is a global trend and has become one of the important causes of maternal death.
The onset of VTE is insidious and the clinical symptoms are atypical, which can easily lead to misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis, and even disability and death. Its prevention and control is not only a professional problem, but also a systematic management problem. In order to strive to form a replicable, generalizable, standardized prevention and treatment system, prevention and treatment path and prevention and control measures with the characteristics of women and children, and to establish a large system of VTE prevention, screening and treatment services in the province, Fujian Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Fujian Provincial Children's Hospital, and Fujian Provincial Maternity Hospital initiated the initiative of establishing the Fujian Provincial Women's and Children's VTE Prevention and Treatment Specialist Alliance.
At the launching ceremony on the same day, Zhang Zhengmian, president of Fujian Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, together with the guest representatives attending the meeting, pressed the "Fujian Women's and Children's VTE Prevention and Control Specialist Alliance" launch ball and awarded medals to the member units of the alliance.

Efforts will be made to achieve the following five goals
First, build a standardized gynecological and child specialist VTE prevention and control management system.
Second, through the Fujian Provincial Women's and Children's Specialist Medical Association, promote hospitals at all levels to start in-hospital thrombosis prevention and treatment projects, gradually strengthen the promotion of standards, establish a quality control system, refer up and down, and standardize the clinical management of gynecological and pediatric specialist VTE prevention and treatment projects in medical institutions at all levels in our province.
Third, give full play to the academic leading role of Fujian Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Fujian Children's Hospital and Fujian Provincial Maternity Hospital in the region, and carry out training, academic seminars, and visits and exchanges.
Fourth, through systematic epidemiological and clinical research, the pathogenesis of PE and in-hospital VTE in women and children in the province was further explored.
Fifth, the use of modern information technology, the establishment of a provincial specialized disease database and remote diagnosis and treatment center, to promote interregional VTE prevention and treatment of collaborative cooperation, the formation of layers of promotion, up and down linkage of the development model.
After the launching ceremony, an academic forum on the construction of VTE system and standardized prevention and control was also held. From the perspective of hospital management and clinical practice, the experts put forward constructive opinions and suggestions for the development of the Fujian Provincial Women's and Children's VTE Prevention and Treatment Alliance.
