From a humble small fishing village to an idyllic scenery belt with "small bridges, flowing water, and people's homes", Dongtou Baidi Village was recently selected as the first batch of low (zero) carbon villages (communities) in the province to create a pilot list.
In recent years, in order to highlight the characteristics of the ancient fishing village, Baidi Village has maintained the original appearance of the stone house to the greatest extent, led by the homestay economy, and adhered to the integrated development of the industry. At present, Baidi Village has attracted a large number of villagers from abroad to return to their hometowns to set up homestays, and villagers have achieved employment at the "doorstep".
Ye Lijiang, a fisherman who has been wandering outside for decades, returned to Baidi a few years ago to open a homestay. "BaiDi is a very characteristic island ancient fishing village, and the isolated environment makes the ecology here more intact." Now, Ye Lijiang's team runs 22 homestays in Baidi. They also signed a cooperation agreement with the local government, inviting well-known european designers to renovate and upgrade old houses, and create a century-old "grandfather's hut" into a very poetic one.
At present, more than half of the old houses in the village have been renovated and opened to the public, opening up a new road for the island village to enrich the people. In addition to the homestay, the team also has functional areas such as ecological planting, orchard picking, and outdoor sketching, creating a cultural settlement integrating accommodation, leisure, sightseeing and culture. "Originally, we expected that there would be no profit in the first 5 years of the opening of the homestay, but we did not expect that it was suddenly 'on fire', and teachers and students of art schools, TV drama crews, and newlyweds taking wedding photos were endless." Ye Lijiang said proudly.
Firmly adhere to the "fishing tourism" integration development ideas, Bai Die expands the advantages of island characteristics, adheres to the concept of "protecting its appearance, showing its face, casting its soul, and promoting its rhyme", and strives to build an artistic village of "environmental beauty, ecological beauty, spiritual beauty, and industrial beauty". A few years ago, the "China Wenzhou Dongtou International Writers' Home" was unveiled in Baidi Xiyu Art Village. This is of great significance for further improving the layout of the cultural industry, gradually cultivating high-end cultural brands, and promoting the accelerated development of the cultural and creative industry in Dongtou.
Continue to transform ecological advantages into economic advantages. In recent years, relying on the construction needs of the "Sea Garden", the local government has actively cultivated cultural industry clusters such as the "Baidi Xiyu" Cultural Industry Headquarters Economic Park through a number of initiatives, attracting social forces to actively participate in cultural construction and realizing the beautiful transformation of the "Garden Village".
