Tell the story of Zhuhai and Macao! The script seminar of the movie "My Heart Returns" was held in Zhuhai

On December 7th, sponsored by Zhuhai Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, organized by Zhuhai Film and Television Artists Association, and co-organized by Macau PEN Association, Haolong (Zhuhai Hengqin) Film and Television Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Xinjie Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., the script discussion of the movie "My Heart Returns" was held in the conference room of Zhuhai Literary Association.

According to reports, "My Heart Returns" is a Guangdong-Macao co-production film project, which is a gift for the anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland in 2022, and is expected to start production in May 2022 and complete production in August 2022.

Taking macao's return to the motherland as an opportunity, the film script will be based on characters such as Du Lan, principal of "Haojiang Middle School", aiming to show Zhuhai's role as a special zone in supporting and serving the construction of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone through the description of the background of the times and the shaping of typical characters.

The script seminar was presided over by Tang Chunhua, winner of the Zhuhai Fisherwoman Award, deputy secretary-general of the Municipal Film and Television Artists Association and famous radio announcer. Li Guanding, President of the Macau PEN Association, elaborated his views at the seminar, how to better show the development and changes of Macao after the return of Macao through the movie "My Heart Returns"? How to organically unify the stories of the four characters in the film and tell a story with more Macao characteristics? Li Guanding believes that the script should vigorously carry forward the feelings of home and country, inherit traditional culture, avoid homogenization of content, need to have a deeper understanding of the local social conditions of Macao, increase the description of details, and depict a good story with the breath of life. The script needs to start from the whole, connect the stories of the four people, and form an organic whole to ensure the coherence and integrity of the story.

Zhang Xuemei, chairman of zhuhai film and television artists association, introduced that zhuhai film and television artists association has cooperated with Macao literary and art groups for many times since its establishment, and the film "Macao 1949" created by the association has artistically reproduced a touching story that is little known in Macao more than 70 years ago, and was listed by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television as the first batch of outstanding domestic feature films recommended to the whole country in 2010. She hopes that through this script seminar, she will brainstorm and highlight the innovative, participatory and international characteristics of the works, lead the direction of film development from the aspects of ideology, dissemination and industry, and further promote the creation and exchange of films in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Liao Zixin, chairman of the Macau PEN Association, believes that since Macao was under the jurisdiction of the Portuguese before its return to the motherland, Macao's religious beliefs and social customs have a strong European color, but Macao has always retained and inherited traditional Chinese culture. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, countless Macao compatriots joined the guerrillas to support the War of Resistance, and non-governmental organizations also launched rescue campaigns and actively participated in the cause of the motherland's salvation and survival. I hope that through the character design of the four characters, "My Heart Returns" will tell the story of Macao well, keep up with the pace of the times, and show Macao's true fine tradition of patriotism and love for Macao.

Zheng David, Secretary-General of the Guangdong Film Industry Association, talked about Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao film and television cooperation from the creation of the co-production film script "My Heart Returns", he suggested that doing a good job in the Cantonese film market can allow local audiences to have more diverse and rich viewing choices, and the Guangdong Film Industry Association will strengthen and promote the exchange and cooperation of filmmakers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and contribute to the construction of the Humanistic Bay Area.

Film producer Wang Yan from the creative intention, she believes that Macao and Zhuhai are close to each other, the development of Macao and Zhuhai is inseparable, from the perspective of film to better show the cooperation and development of Zhuhai and Macao, how to provide space for Macao to develop in Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone, she will integrate the details of "clothing, food, housing and travel" into the film, so that the public can witness the changes in the development of Macao.

Teng Yishu, associate professor of the Guangdong- Hong Kong-Macao King's Research Center for Cultural Innovation and Communication at Beijing Normal University, suggested that "My Heart Returns" as a gift film should set up a vivid example, show the differences before and after the return through stories, and evoke the emotional resonance of the public. Through the shaping of the character archetype of Du Lan, the principal of "Haojiang Middle School", the image of a good teacher in Macao was established, and the "Mr. Big" of Macao was created.

Film screenwriter Li Hong said that from the perspective of story creation, he hopes to tell the story of Macao well, and he will continue to study the details of creation and highlight the characteristics of Macao from individual stories. "My Heart Returns" will more embody the "Macaoization", stand out from Cantonese films, and tell a real Macao story.
