Tezuka Awards Review

Eiichiro Oda: It's a good harvest. All very thoughtful. Looking back, I understand the contemporary young people's outlook on life and death, their depictions of the world, and Japan's future. Although these ideas often appear in the setting, after all, movies and manga are still a little different, and it is even more interesting if they can highlight the personality of the characters.

Yuhiko Inoue: I was also inspired to encounter these seriously created works and highly completed works. Even the lines and stories that seem to be born from introspection and survival interrogations can still feel as clear and gentle as the light of the exit, and the heart is moved. The power of comics, although it is an optional examination, I still feel it.

Akira Toriyama: This time, no matter which work is very interesting, the more I look at it, the more I admire it. I couldn't find any major shortcomings in each work, and I was fascinated by the variety. Each piece is unreservedly at its own pace

It's really great to have 31 pages full. Of course, there is still a loss of areas that need to be improved, and as a competition, this is really blameless.

Kazue Kato (Masterpiece - Aono Exorcist): Recent newcomers, they are very good at drawing manga!! Neither the painter nor the storyboard has great drawbacks, and each is full of ideas for rich elements that make people enjoy the process of reading. On the contrary, there may not be a very prominent work in terms of personality or completion, but if it can be painted like this, then don't give up on continuing to paint, maybe... They are all talented. This should be the hardest, let's cheer up! Support you guys!!

Tezuka Production: Probably because the authors are a little older, each work is highly readable. From the ideas and emotional rendering, you can feel the originality and taste, and many of them are works that can be expected in the future.

Summary: No matter which work has its own advantages, and the author is aware of this and racking his brains on how to show the advantages, giving the impression that this is the case. On the other hand, the story with a stable atmosphere and step by step is very eye-catching, and there is also a bright and energetic part that pursues the style of a juvenile magazine. On the whole, this selection is not only a bumper harvest of rising quality, but also a large number of works that boldly challenge the strong personal color and plot, which makes people look forward to the advent of a new era.

Works by Akira Akatsuka

Admission options (2): "Classmate Hanahata in the GuessIng Behind the Word Game", "A Day in the Magic Knight Asfer Suzuki"

Best works (3): Zombie Bingo, Don't Be Magical Girl, Robot High School Student Dark Yard Adam

Akatsuka Prize Review

Aso Monday (Masterpiece - The Disaster of Nanao Saiki): Although there are many attractive subjects, I always think that there is room for more interesting paintings of this subject. In addition, if there is any shining point, there will be more works that receive higher ratings.

Kyosuke Usuda (Masterpiece - Funny Piper): There are three works that can be said to be above the level of good works, which is very satisfactory to me. However, the main works are almost all soft and cute style works, and I hope to see comics that play with humor.

Koji Oishi (Masterpiece - Dew Point Inumaru): Although many funny points have the form of teasing and clapping, they do not consider how to make people laugh. Although the laugh points vary greatly from person to person, at least draw "laugh points that the author himself can laugh at".

Tsino Maru (Masterpiece - Hot Fighting Pony): This session I think the level is very high. Among them, the two works selected are very good. If I see the author force lines or funny points for the characters because of the plot, I will feel that it is against the law and put down the hand of turning the page, fortunately there is no such situation.

Kosuke Tsuruta (Masterpiece - Funny Manga Nichiwa): Every winner is a serious person, and I feel that I will be able to draw funny comics in the future. Even if there are no outstanding works as a whole, I can feel that everyone has made some strange attempts to get close to funny comics, which is an interesting one.
