The Southern and Northern Dynasties of the Wei and Jin Dynasties have been divided into two parts since the Western Jin Dynasty, so let's start by following the part of the Southern Dynasty
Liu Song (420-479)
In 420, Liu Yu deposed Emperor Gong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and established himself as Emperor Wu of Song (Emperor Wu of Song), with the capital Jiankang and the state name Song. In order to distinguish it from the later Southern Song Dynasty, the history is called Liu Song. Emperor Wu of the Song Dynasty made a significant contribution to the economic development of Jiangnan and the protection of Han culture by abolishing harsh laws and improving social life.
In 422, Liu Yu died of illness, and Liu Yifu took the throne as Emperor Shao of Song. However, he was cruel and ruthless, and was later abolished by his courtiers and demoted to the king of Yingyang.
In 424, Liu Yilong ascended the throne and was made emperor (Emperor Wen of Song). He cut off the power of the courtiers, reformed the internal affairs, rectified the rule of officials, persuaded the peasants to be sang, and the country prospered, known in history as the rule of Yuan Jia.
In 430, The Song Emperor Liu Yilong chose the Northern Expedition at an inappropriate time. The three successive Northern Expeditions all ended in failure. The Liu Song Dynasty flourished and declined.
Later, the internal regime of the Liu Song Dynasty was chaotic, and it was not uncommon for siblings to be killed, and the emperors changed frequently. Power gradually fell into the hands of Xiao Daocheng, the general of the Forbidden Army.
