Hao Ping, President of Peking University: It is necessary to take root in China to run universities and actively serve the national strategic needs

On the afternoon of December 3, Beijing Municipality studied and implemented the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and preached the report meeting of Peking University. Hao Ping, alternate member of the Central Committee, member of the Beijing Municipal Propaganda Group, and president of Peking University, delivered a propaganda report conveying the basic situation and main spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Hao Ping pointed out that the plenary session is an important meeting held on the occasion of the party's centennial birthday, which has a lofty positioning, has a bearing on the overall situation, and is of great significance. The "Resolution of the CPC Central Committee on the Major Achievements and Historical Experiences of the Party's Century-Old Struggle" adopted by the plenary session clearly states that the "two establishments" are programmatic documents for comprehensively planning the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes unprecedented in a hundred years, consolidating the consensus of the whole party, and also the action guide for continuously promoting the new great project of party building in the new era and encouraging the whole party and the people of all nationalities throughout the country to win new victories in comprehensively building a modern socialist country. The "Resolution" will surely fully consolidate the consensus of the whole party, strengthen the confidence of the people, and lead us to take the "new road of catching up with the examination."

Hao Ping said that Peking University should combine the study, publicity, and implementation of the spirit of the plenary session with the study and education of party history, with inspection and rectification, and with the practice of reform and development of Peking University, so as to push the various undertakings of Peking University to a new level: We must earnestly use our party's glorious historical education to guide teachers and students to plunge into the great process of national rejuvenation; we must persist in arming our minds with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and guide the practice of Peking University's reform and development; and we must stand on the high plane of having people succeeding the cause of the party and the country. We must conscientiously implement the fundamental task of cultivating people with good morals; we must take root in the land of China to run universities, and actively serve the national strategic needs and social development needs.

"We must always adhere to the orientation of running schools that serve the development of the country, make new contributions to the cause of comprehensively building a socialist modern power, and greet the victory of the 20th National Congress of the Party with more outstanding results." Hao Ping stressed.
