Quanzhou, December 4 (Reporter Sun Hong) "Overseas Chinese Literature and Exchanges between Chinese and Foreign Civilizations: Theoretical Innovation and Text Interpretation" Academic Seminar opened in Quanzhou on the 4th, and many scholars from Singapore, Malaysia, Switzerland and other overseas Chinese literature and related research fields at home and abroad participated through the "online + offline" approach.
"The stories of struggle, dedication to history, and unique roles of overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese need to be excavated, studied, and disseminated, and overseas Chinese literature is not only a historical witness of exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations, but also the best literary carrier and communication medium." Bi Mingqiang, deputy secretary of the party committee of Huaqiao University, said so.
The organizers revealed that on the one hand, this conference looks forward to continuing the discussion of Chinese cultural poetic theory from a new theoretical perspective and the height of dialogue between Chinese and foreign civilizations, and expanding the research horizon of Chinese literature with the theories and methods of sociology and anthropology; on the other hand, it aims to connect ethnic studies in international scholarship with the history of overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese, and to explore the writing power and way of speech of the overseas Chinese and Ethnic Chinese community as a minority, as well as the communication path of ethnic harmony and civilizational coexistence.
Quanzhou is an ancient city with a thousand years of overseas transportation history, and there are as many as 9.5 million overseas Chinese living overseas in Quanzhou, who uphold the spirit of "love to fight to win" and create many stories of struggle with diligence, bravery and wisdom.
Guo Peiming, vice chairman of the Quanzhou Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, pointed out that as a famous Chinese writer such as Yu Guangzhong, Chen Yingzhen, Shi Shuqing, Liu Zaifu, Pan Yaoming, and Dora, and the hometown of cai Guoqiang, Huang Yongping, and other famous overseas artists, the ancient city of Quanzhou also embodies the nostalgic memories of many Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan compatriots and overseas Chinese compatriots.
It is reported that the meeting was sponsored by the Institute of Chinese Culture and World Civilization of Huaqiao University and the College of Letters of Huaqiao University, and was hosted by the Overseas Chinese Literature and Taiwan-Hong Kong Literature Research Center of Huaqiao University. The convener of the meeting was Professor Chen Qingfei of the School of Letters of Huaqiao University and the Overseas Chinese Literature and Taiwan-Hong Kong Literature Research Center.
