Icelandic contemporary artist Olafur Eliasson has repeatedly created many impressive art installations based on the moon.
In the latest moon-themed series created in 2019, Eliasson stacks layers of acrylic plates of different colors on top of each other, and the moon that changes in the transition of color seems to be undergoing a lunar eclipse.
Eliasson has also collaborated with Chinese artist Ai Weiwei on a global interactive art project called Moon. In this work, the moon serves as a "shared" platform, and the artist invites web users to leave their own mark on the "moon": a phrase, a graffiti or a greeting.
Synthetic Moon

Yue Liang
Chinese contemporary artist Huang Yulong in the 2016 Mid-Autumn Festival night, launched a "kidnapping the moon" action, he carried his new work "Yue Liang", from the fourth ring road to the second ring road in Beijing, the full moon in the sky and the work of the distant reflection, as a reproduction of the real moon, using the "kidnapping" such a conception, Huang Yulong hopes to let the public feel the most original charm of a thing and the touch on itself in the whole action.
It is said that this behavior has not even been stopped by the traffic police, and the city's "Yue Liang" shines with the moon, with a sense of humor with a surreal meaning.
Huang Yulong once said: "Some subtle feelings and feelings are too ordinary or too subtle to be noticed by people, so I want to make people recall the neglected emotions through straightforward creation and through the way of "reproduction" of the situation."
