Beijing News (reporter Liu Zhen) On December 1, the French Ministry of Culture awarded Wang Keran, the founder, artistic director and general manager of Yanghua Theatre, the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts and Literatures, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the exchange of Chinese and French dramatic art and the friendship between China and France. The award ceremony was held at the Old Courtyard Boutique Hotel in the ancient city of Beijing, and Mr. Luo Liang, the French ambassador to China, awarded Wang Keran a medal. In his speech, Ambassador Luo Liang said, "Wang Keran deeply loves the art of theater and has brought a new interpretation and viewing experience to Chinese theater through bold innovation. By persistently sharing this obsession with stage art, French theatrical works and artistic creations are presented to the audience." At the same time, the award speech pointed out that Wang Keran was an important participant in Franco-Chinese cooperation and gave strong support to the Sino-French Cultural Spring held by the French Embassy.

In 2017, Wang Keran cooperated with French artist Anna Es Martin on an international drama project, introducing the French clown drama "Mr. B and Mr. P" to the domestic market for the first time; in 2018, he co-planned and successfully introduced the French drama "Saigon" with Anna Isa Martin; in 2019, he invited French director David Les Gaolaihua to direct the Yanghua version of "Ponzi Scheme"; in 2020, the top French theater director Eric Lacas cadde came to China and co-created the series drama "Thunderstorm" and "Thunderstorm After". In addition to the cooperation in the repertoire, Wang Keran has also promoted the cooperation of Chinese and French artists at many levels such as international cooperation in the theater festival, national drama education and theater incubation. At the ceremony, Wang Keran said, "I am grateful to literature for nourishing myself, especially emphasizing the redemption effect of the French masterpiece "Les Misérables" in his life. At the end of his speech, Wang Keran announced that Yanghua Drama will produce the drama "Les Misérables" next year, and at the same time, the play "You and Me, The Seven Wonderful Steps of theater", directed by Wang Keran and produced by Yanghua Theater, will also be launched in the form of a public welfare performance in early December, and will launch a national tour in 2022, which adopts the form of a collection of Chinese modern and contemporary drama classics, which will bring a classic "drama lesson" to students of all ages across the country.

It is reported that in late December, the new book "Everything for Drama", jointly written by Wang Keran and Niu Meng and published by Guangxi Normal University Press, will be released soon. Wang Keran hopes that through this book, more people will understand drama and pay attention to drama. In this book, Wang Keran for the first time deeply disclosed the working methods of drama production and the insider of stage operation.
