African lions infected with covid-19 at Singapore Zoo Asiatic lions are still in quarantine

On November 26, local time, Singapore Wanshi Conservation Group issued a notice that the 5 African lions infected with the new coronavirus at the Singapore Zoo on November 9 have fully recovered so far, the African lion exhibition area will reopen tomorrow (November 27), and the 9 Asiatic lions infected with the new coronavirus are still in quarantine.

The Animal and Veterinary Affairs Unit lifted the quarantine order for African lions on November 23, according to Wanshi Conservation Group. The 9 Asiatic lions in the night safari quarantine recovered better.

Three keepers in the Carnivores section of Singapore Night Safari contracted COVID-19 on 8 November. The first 4 Asiatic lions and 1 African lion to be found infected were in contact with keepers. At present, all 3 breeders have recovered and returned to work. (Reporter Deng Xuemei)
