The second round of the 2021 British Snooker Championship was in full swing, with title-winning favourite O'Sullivan shooting a five-shot 50+ to beat Robbie Williams 6-2 on aggregate, successfully reaching the round of 32 to continue to impact his eighth crown. Higgins scored 131 points to give a 5-0 lead and missed three match points, but still managed to advance 6-3, while Karen Wilson swept through the game 6-0.

Seven-time British Champion O'Sullivan, in the second round against Robbie Williams. O'Sullivan took the lead in the first set, scoring a 58-pointer to take the lead at 82-46. Robbie Williams responded strongly in the second set, scoring 114 points in a single shot to tie 118-4. O'Sullivan scored just two red balls in the third set, and Robbie Williams scored 68 points to win 79-2 and win 2-1. In the fourth inning, O'Sullivan took advantage of the game and struck a 91-point clean sheet to make it 2-2 into halftime.
In the fifth inning of the second half, with both sides defending for multiple rounds, O'Sullivan seized the opportunity sent by his opponents to score 74 points to win 82-9. In the sixth set, O'Sullivan made several starts to take a 4-2 lead in the next city at 68-1. Robbie Williams scored seven points in the seventh inning and O'Sullivan scored 66 points to win the match point 5-2. In the eighth inning, O'Sullivan scored another 55 points to win five straight sets 64-10 and make it 6-2 to the third round.
"I'm fully committed to this game on a mental level, you can only control what you can control, mental strength is the difference between losing and losing, I try to enjoy the process of the game, to play happily." O'Sullivan said after the game, "At my age, it is a good thing to be able to get some inspiration in the game, the British Championship is the second biggest event in snooker, and my results here are still good." In the third round, O'Sullivan's opponent will be Mark King, who eliminated Gerald Green 6-2.
Higgins took on Thailand's Son Sawad, and the Scottish wizards started off very unscheduled, coming up to win five consecutive sets to earn match points, and the third and fourth sets were single-shot 87 and 131 points respectively. However, Song Sawad did not give up, and in the sixth and seventh innings, he scored 56 and 55 consecutive singles, and after the eighth set, he chased three match points in a row. Higgins stabilized the situation after 5-3, ending the battle with an 86 in the ninth inning and passing the game 6-3 on aggregate. Karen Wilson faced Jack Jones, scoring a 113-point break in the first inning and a 77 in the fifth inning to win six straight sets 6-0.
