Reuters news on November 23, Turkey's grocery delivery unicorn Gottir said on Tuesday that the company has signed an agreement to acquire British rival Weezy.
Getir currently operates in several countries in Western Europe and the United States and has been promoting its brand in London. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Getir raised nearly $1 billion in three rounds of funding this year, valuing it at more than $7.5 billion.
The delivery industry is reportedly experiencing a wave of consolidation, with U.S. food delivery giant DoorDash, which is expanding into Europe, saying this month that it would buy Finnish rival Wolt Enterprises on an all-stock deal worth nearly 7 billion euros ($7.9 billion).
