Xiangsheng Examination 175: Four Generations of Xiangsheng Family Inheritance "Lianjiamen"

Although the Xiangsheng Lianjia family is not everyone in the Xiangsheng family, it is not as brilliant as the Ma family, the Hou family, and the Chang family, but the Lian family is definitely a cross-talk family, and has been passed down to four generations so far: Lian Xiuquan of the Shouzi generation, Lian Xiaokun of the Baozi generation, Xiaolin of the Wenzi generation, and Lian Zheng of the Ming dynasty. In the entire cross-talk industry, there are very few that can be passed on for four generations.

Lian Xiuquan is one of the Eight Virtues of Xiangsheng, zhou Deshan, whose stage name is Zhou Toad. There are not many disciples of Zhou Deshan, but there is a very famous one, that is, Ma Sanli of the Ma family, in addition to Liu Guitian, Li Tongwen, Bao Shouhua, Wei Changyu and so on.

Lian Xiuquan's name is often associated with the Morning Light Tea Society. In the five years from the opening of the Chenguang Tea House to the liberation of Jinan in 1948, a number of cross-talk celebrities have come to the Chenguang Tea House to perform, the more famous ones are Li Shouzeng, Zhang Shouchen, Ma Sanli, Gao Deming, Zhou Deshan (Zhou Toad), Ji Pingsan, Liu Baorui. Although Lian Xiuquan and Lian Xiaokun's father and son were not very famous, they also came to Jinan. Probably because Ma Sanli was Lian Xiuquan's brother-in-law, Lian Xiuquan let his son Lian Xiaokun worship under Ma Sanli's door. It is perfectly normal for the cross-talk community to worship the brothers of the same disciple, to fight the tiger brothers, to fight the father and son soldiers, and sometimes the relationship between the brothers and brothers is closer than the relationship between the brothers.

What is unexpected is that Lian Xiaokun let his son Lian Xiaolin worship under Wang Benlin, and Wang Benlin's master is Lian Xiuquan. That is to say, even Kobayashi's master is his own grandfather, which is unique in the entire cross-talk industry. In addition, there is the Ma family, Ma Sanli received the disciple Chang Baofeng, and Chang Baofeng received the disciple Ma Sanli's grandson Ma Xiaochuan. Ma Xiaochuan has the Ogawa Cross-Talk Club.

Lian Xiuquan's name is still closely associated with Tangshan. Tangshan has a place where qu artists are concentrated, which is Xiaoshan. Before liberation, the big music artists who often performed here included Yuan Kuocheng, Qi Wenfeng, Lian Xiuquan, Li Shouqing, Wang Baotong, Mu Xianglin, etc. After the liberation of Tangshan in December 1948, Lian Xiuquan served as the president of the Tangshan Quyi Improvement Society, with a cross-talk group under it, and Wang Baotong and Mu Xianglin served as the leaders of the cross-talk group.

Lian Xiuquan's apprentice is more famous is Wang Benlin, who also has the identity of Zhang Shouchen's righteous son and the father of Wang Shuangfu (Wang Yafu). Regarding Wang Benlin, it should also be mentioned that he composed the Taiping lyrics "Great West Wing" for Liu Baoquan's help; he donated money to buy a "Lu Xun" plane during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and was awarded a "patriotic artist"; he sponsored Li Runjie to leave Xi'an, leaving a huge amount of IOUs.

Lian Xiaokun is good at willow work, and his best passage is "The Case of Huanmei", who settled in Lanzhou after liberation and became one of the founders of Gansu Xiangsheng.

Lian Zheng has little information, and it is said that he studied cross-talk with Zheng Xiaoshan, so he is the same as Miao Fu of the Qingqu Society.

It is said that Lian Xiuquan's daughter, even Xiaokun's sister Lian Xiaoxia, is also a cross-talk actor.
