In 2017, I traveled to the UAE and had the privilege of visiting the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque, built to commemorate the first President of the United Arab Emirates, Zaid Abu Dhabi, took 13 years and cost 5.5 billion US dollars to complete, all the details are world-class, called the architectural masterpiece of the Islamic world!
In the middle of the main body of the mosque building, there is a dome of up to 57 meters high, and the inner and outer walls and domes are made of top white jade marble and white plaster. In front of the main hall of the mosque, there is a spacious square paved with white jade, and the color texture of each piece of white jade used on the ground is nearly the same, and the jade surface is also painted with huge flowers and vines.
The Persian carpet in the main prayer hall of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque is the world's largest hand-woven carpet, costing $5.8 million, woven over a year and a half by 1,200 Iranian workers using 38 tons of wool imported from Iran and New Zealand, tied in 220 million knots, divided into 9 pieces, and the hand-woven carpet covers an area of 5627 square meters and weighs 35 tons.
The gilded chandelier with gold-plated branches hanging from the main prayer shop is specially customized from Germany and consists of more than 11,000 Swarovski crystals, which are gorgeous and colorful, and are known as the most beautiful and largest crystal chandeliers in the world.
To visit the mosque, you must go barefoot to enter, and you must wear knee trousers, and ladies must wear headscarves.
