Catalytic old well "vitality" of Mabei No. 1 Oilfield in Qaidam Basin adds "confidence" to winter supply

The reporter learned from the Qinghai Oilfield Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Qinghai Oilfield") on the 18th that in order to add "confidence" to the downstream winter supply, the Qinghai Oilfield Gas Production Plant No. 2 Gas Production Plant Mabei No. 1 Oilfield located in a tertiary structural belt on the northern edge of the Qaidam Basin has taken multiple measures to add gas wells, and the current daily output of natural gas is 45,000 cubic meters.

Qinghai Oilfield is the highest oil and gas field in the world and one of the earliest oil fields developed in China. Located in the northwest of Qinghai Province, the Qaidam Basin is an important oil and gas production base in qinghai, Tibet, Gansu and Ningxia provinces (regions), with an average altitude of about 3,000 meters.

According to reports, the Mabei No. 1 Oilfield of qinghai oilfield gas production plant is located in a tertiary tectonic belt on the northern edge of the Qaidam Basin, and the surrounding surface environment is The Gobi and wind erosion remnants, with an average ground elevation of about 2900 meters.

Since entering the trial production phase in December 2003, the block has undergone a long period of water injection development and gas injection experiments, during which the block has shown a relatively abundant shallow natural gas reserve. Since the block belongs to the late development block, the block area is small, and most of the single wells have low production, high water content and low mining efficiency.

In recent years, in order to give full play to the potential of oilfield development and ensure the supply of natural gas in winter, the second gas production plant of Qinghai Oilfield has changed its thinking in the face of the passive development situation in Northern Malaysia, adopted a win-win approach to labor cooperation, and carried out a trial production evaluation of shallow gas in the Mabei No. 1 gas field with the goal of benefit development. In accordance with the principle of "test mining does not empty one side of the gas", the second gas production plant set up a trial mining project team, gathered the business elites of relevant departments to be responsible for the trial mining work in the whole process, and was fully responsible for the implementation of the project in the form of project management.

In 2020, the second gas production plant carried out potential mapping and demonstration work on the shallow gas of the old Mabei No. 1 oilfield, and used the shallow gas layer in the form of upper and lower adjustment layers around some old wells without production capacity, with a total of 8 operating wells and 0.7 billion square meters of reserves, and at the same time rapidly promoted the construction of the labor reinforcement station. On October 19, 2021, the second gas production plant completed the operation and operation of shallow gas wells and the production and export work of the booster station, through the trial production of 8 wells, 7 wells obtained industrial gas in the early stage, the current daily gas production is 45,000 square meters, and has been stable for more than 20 days, adding "confidence" to the winter supply guarantee of Qinghai Oilfield.
