It is reported that as China's first cross-sea high-speed railway, Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed rail from Fuzhou in the north, to the south through Putian, Quanzhou, Xiamen, and finally to Zhangzhou, with a total length of 278 kilometers, a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, is An important part of China's "eight vertical and eight points through the green horizontal" high-speed railway network, an important part of the coastal passage, and will be completed and opened to traffic in 2023.

Meizhou Bay Bridge is China's first cross-sea high-speed rail key control project cross-sea bridge, the length of the bridge is 14.7 kilometers, the length of the sea construction is 10.8 kilometers, the main bridge is a prestressed concrete continuous rigid low tower cable-stayed bridge, the main span of 180 meters. After the bridge is closed, the ballastless track construction will be carried out, which also marks the smooth opening of the key control nodes of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, and the wish of "taking the high-speed rail to see the sea" is about to be realized.

It is also understood that after the completion and opening of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, the railway running time from Fuzhou to Xiamen will be shortened from the current 2 hours to 1 hour, and the "Golden Triangle" of Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou in southern Fujian will form a half-hour traffic circle, which will greatly shorten the traffic travel time of urban residents.
