At the recently opened 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, Jeep's pickup truck model Gladiator Advance Edition debuted in China. Officials said the car is scheduled to be announced in the first quarter of 2022 in China.
As a pickup truck model of Jeep, the gladiator has a lot of similarities with the current Wrangler in terms of styling design, and can even be regarded as a "Wrangler pickup version". As a result, design elements including hard-hitting body design styles, retro round headlights and more can be found on gladiators, and a new rear open cargo compartment is also included.
In addition, judging from the appearance of the Gladiator Advance Edition, the car is painted with a cement gray body and blackened in the front grille, rims and other parts, and the engine canopy bears the willys letter logo of the Jeep originator model. At the same time, the car is equipped with a roof luggage loading platform and a retractable cover for the cargo compartment.
In the interior part, the Gladiator car is as consistent as possible with the Wrangler, and the new car comes standard with a 3.5-inch driving computer display, and the high-end model is 7 inches. At the same time, the car's center console is equipped with a 5-inch touch screen as standard, and can be available as a 7-inch or 8.4-inch option, with a built-in fourth-generation Uconnect multimedia system that can support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile phone interconnection.
In terms of power, the Gladiator can choose from a 3.6-liter PENTASTAR V6 gasoline engine and a 3.0-liter ECODISTATEL V6 diesel engine with a maximum power of 213 kW and a peak torque of 353 Nm in overseas markets, while the latter has a maximum power of 194 kW and a peak torque of 600 Nm, matching both engines with an 8-speed automatic transmission. However, the introduction of the domestic version of the model is likely to be replaced with a 2.0T gasoline engine, referring to the domestic Wranglers, its 2.0T engine has a maximum power of 195.4 kilowatts, a peak torque of 400 Nm, and the transmission system matches an 8-speed automatic transmission.
