Since childhood, he has been brilliant, good poetry, and broad knowledge of history. With Tongyi Qiuyuan in the world, he is known as "Qiu Bai". After entering the Yuan Dynasty, he was awarded the Taiping Road Confucianism, and soon after he was transferred to the Professor of Changzhou Road, qianjiang and Zhejiang, and other places to do the Zhongshu Province Confucianism Deputy Tiju, and then transferred to the Huaidong Yancang Ambassador, Lanxi Prefecture Judge. In his later years, he returned to the West Lake under the Qixia Ridge, because there was a spring that flowed at its gate during the day, so the inscription room was named "Zhanyuan". Gong Shifu once formed a association with the celebrities of the time, called the "Moon Spring Bard Society". His poems mostly depict the beautiful natural scenery and rural pastoral life, and also reflect the people's livelihood and hardships and current politics. The language is simple and natural, elegant and idyllic, not carved, elegant style, and deeply respected by people at the time. His "West Lake Fu", with nearly 10,000 words, has described the scenic spots and monuments of the West Lake, and has been examined in detail, which can be called the Small Zhi of the West Lake. He is the author of 8 volumes of the Zhanyuan Collection, and only 1 volume of the Zhanyuan Manuscript and the Zhanyuan Jingyu remain. He is good at poetry and has close contacts with Zhou Mi, Zhao Mengfu, Xian Yushu, Deng Wenyuan, Qiu Yuan, etc. His calligraphy was also profound, and people at the time called him "poetry to force Tao, Wei, shu tong yan, willow".
