In October 2019, a theft of electric vehicles occurred in the jurisdiction, in order to quickly crack the case, HongGang, under the leadership of the police, transferred the civil monitoring of 35 kilometers from Mali to Xincai County, and finally successfully arrested 3 theft suspects and recovered 5 stolen electric vehicles. At the beginning of 2020, when the epidemic broke out, HongGang actively fought in the front line of epidemic prevention and control, and took the initiative to apply for duty at the card point. In his work, he was not afraid of hardship and tiredness, strictly implemented various measures and requirements for epidemic prevention and control, and fought in the police station for more than two consecutive months.

In his work, Hong Gang never disregarded his personal safety, and his mind was to severely crack down on all kinds of illegal and criminal activities and ensure social harmony and stability in the jurisdiction. In May 2020, two criminal suspects wandered to Mari, Zhaoji, Gucheng and other places in Huaibin County, using feudal superstitions to commit fraud against a number of elderly people. In this regard, Hong Gang actively cooperated with the police to assist in the investigation and handling of the case, and actively analyzed and judged the activity rules of the criminal suspects. Once, when a road section that a criminal suspect may have passed, a thrilling scene occurred. In the face of police interception, the suspect drove a motorcycle to forcibly rush the card, and then fell into the deep ditch and abandoned the car to escape, seeing this situation, Hong Gang jumped into the deep ditch without hesitation to pursue. At this time, his leg was seriously injured and the pain was unbearable, but he still insisted on pursuing with his wounds until the suspect was caught. After diagnosis, Hong Gang's anterior cruciate ligament in his left leg was ruptured and the meniscus was torn, and he was treated in Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital for more than two months. When the injury improved slightly, Hong Gang took the initiative to apply to return to work and actively participated in the work of the institute.

In the four years he worked at the Mari police station, Hong Gang has assisted the police in investigating and handling more than 100 administrative cases and assisted the police in investigating and handling more than 20 criminal cases.

It is precisely because of the unremitting efforts of Hong Gang and other comrades that the Mari police station has achieved the first place in the overall work ranking in the first 10 months of this year, and the city's "Dabie Mountain Guardian Cup" has ranked second in the city for cracking the case and chasing the escape.
