Peach and plum spring wind a glass of wine, the night rain of the rivers and lakes ten years of lights.

On October 5, 2011, Jobs, who suffered from pancreatic cancer, died prematurely after ineffective medical treatment.

On the same day, a large black-and-white photo of his birth and death year was placed on the homepage of the official website of "Apple".

Click on the photo and a brief obituary appears:

A visionary and creative genius left Apple; a brilliant, remarkable man bid farewell to the world; and we, who had the privilege of working with him, have since lost a close friend.

On the same day, Google put "Steve · Jobs, 1955-2011".

Click on the link to jump to the homepage of Apple's official website. This is the first time Google has honored a deceased person in this way.

Hearing the news of his death, Bill Gates said bitterly:

Few people have had the same influence on the world as he did, and that impact will be long-term.

He is the cornerstone of Apple's sustainable progress - Steve Jobs.

He used the iPhone to open the era of intelligence in the mobile phone, subverted the computer with the iMac, subverted the animation with the PixAr, subverted the music with the iPod...

There is no denying that he existed to change the world.

His life is the epitome of success in the eyes of the world, and it is a high-level life that never settles.

Life is short, it's not hard to give up, but it's cooler to stick to it. I just want to focus on living my life as I want.

Jobs once said so.

It seems very arrogant, but it is actually very real.

To this day, his ideas still influence the digital world and warm us.

2021 is the tenth year jobs have left this world.

With this article, I would like to commemorate this "father of the apple forever".

01

In life, there must be some love

On February 24, 1955, Steve Jobs, who was born in San Francisco, was abandoned by his parents.

Luckily, the hard-working and kind Mr. and Mrs. Jobs adopted him, and the family of three settled in Mountain View, Silicon Valley, the paradise of engineers and entrepreneurs.

From an early age, Jobs showed extraordinary talent.

Even from fifth grade to sixth grade, academic pressure was still on him. Instead, the neighboring engineers talked about topics such as solar photovoltaic cells, radar, oscilloscopes, etc., which made him feel magical at a young age.

Little Jobs said excitedly:

These things are so cool, I'm curious about them, and that's the area where I'm willing to spend my energy on them.

Also because of his genius and obsession, he was invited to join the HP Explorers Club, an extracurricular group that popularized the latest electronic technologies to schoolchildren.

In the club, kids can learn in real time about projects hp labs are working on, products they're developing, and be encouraged to innovate.

For Jobs, this was his paradise.

In life, there must be some love.

Because that love, like a beam of light, supports you and I am not afraid of the wind and rain, brave to move forward.

At the age of 17, Jobs graduated from high school.

He gave up the opportunity to attend Stanford, even though Stanford offered him an attractive scholarship in favor of a private liberal arts college, Reed College.

The reasons he gave were surprising:

Stanford doesn't have a little bit of art, while Reed Academy is more interesting and more relevant to your heart.

Throughout, Jobs's only passion was listening to his inner voice and doing what interested him.

Remembering Jobs: Life is short, it's not hard to give up, and it's cooler to stick to it

Only half a year after entering the school, Jobs, who could not see the significance of going to school, decided to withdraw from school, but chose to stay in school to observe.

Because he knew that from the moment he dropped out of school, he could finally abandon the boring professional courses and choose only what interested him to study.

He took a calligraphy class at Reed College, which is known as the best art class in the United States.

In class, he knew serif fonts and sans-serif fonts for the first time, and he was eager to learn how to adjust word spacing and make perfect layout design.

If I hadn't taken that course in college, there would never have been so many glyphs to choose from, so many well-spaced fonts on a Mac computer. Anyway, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.

Whenever he talked about that past, Jobs still had no complaints or regrets.

Sometimes life is so wonderful: set aside some time for yourself and cultivate one or two useless but heartfelt hobbies. Over time, useless, can also become a great use.

02

Those who can't kill you will eventually make you stronger

After leaving Reed Academy, Jobs continued to work in his field of love, joining a famous game company, resigning and then going to India to practice Zen Buddhism.

In 1975, at the age of 20, Jobs founded Apple with friends in his garage.

In 1985, under the leadership of the 30-year-old Jobs, the Mac computer, which consumed a lot of Apple's human and financial resources, came out.

Due to lower than expected sales performance, Jobs was forced to submit his resignation and resign after a vote by the board of directors.

By then, the garage-based company had grown into a massive tech company with $2 billion in assets and 4,000 employees.

Although he was kicked out of his company, Jobs knew that he still loved the cause.

So he decided to start from scratch.

Remembering Jobs: Life is short, it's not hard to give up, and it's cooler to stick to it

Many years later, at Stanford University, in the face of the young smiling faces full of vitality in the audience, Jobs sincerely said this feeling:

You cannot predict the future from a certain point in the present, but only when you look back, you will find some kind of connection. So, you have to believe that something you're doing with your heart right now will be connected at some point in the future, moving you away from the ordinary and different.

In 1986, Jobs spent a huge amount of money to acquire the animation department of lucasfilm, which was on the verge of bankruptcy at the time, and named it "Pixar Animation Studios".

With the support of Jobs, the animated film "Tin Iron Soldier" won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film that year, which also attracted the attention of capital.

Disney first approached Jobs and proposed a collaboration, hoping that Pixar would help Disney make similar animated films.

In the end, the two sides reached an agreement in a cooperative manner, and the first work was "Toy Story".

During the filming, Jobs personally participated in the creation of the story and the setting of the advertising copy, and his personal degree was impressive.

The ultimate investment will eventually achieve the ultimate success.

On November 22, 1995, "Toy Story" was officially released, and finally won the global box office for $350 million.

Since then, Pixar and Disney have made more than a dozen animated blockbusters that have swept the world at the rate of one movie every two years, grossing $7.2 billion worldwide, and winning numerous awards including Oscars.

In 2006, Jobs sold Pixar to Disney.

In this regard, Jobs once sincerely said:

None of this would have happened without being fired by Apple. Sometimes life will give you a blow in the head, but don't get discouraged. In life, there will always be a kind of love that is worth adhering to.

Life in the sea, those who laugh to the end, but in the face of fate's criticism did not shrink back, but fearlessly chose to be loyal to the heart, never give up.

And those who can't kill you will eventually make you stronger.

03

The most perfect curtain of life is the return of the king

Many times, what you love and insist on will eventually come back in another way and become a part of yourself again.

Under the leadership of Jobs, Pixar, which has experienced "ten years of grinding a sword", has finally been reborn, while the "Apple" company that lost Jobs has deteriorated in its operating state.

In 1996, when "Apple" was about to go bankrupt, Jobs returned to "Apple" and took control of the company, launching a revival operation unique in the history of American business.

At his insistence, all "Apple" products, even with the most advanced technology, must be combined with minimalist design, elegant appearance, and humanized experience.

Originally, the iPhone was designed to embed a glass screen into an aluminum alloy housing.

One Monday morning, Jobs told chief designer Jony Ive:

Last night, I didn't sleep because I really couldn't like the design.

Then Jobs held another workshop, and the words "continue to revise" once again lingered in the ears of the team members.

No complaints, no prevarications, the team members acted silently.

We must accept disappointment because it is limited;

But hope must not be lost, for it is infinite.

On January 9, 2007, the iPhone was officially released.

At the press conference, Jobs wore a black turtleneck pullover, round-rimmed glasses, and a fresh head, standing gently in the center of the stage.

Against a deep blue background, simple projections converged on Jobs, and he improvised the exquisite product, the iPhone.

In today's society, smart phones may be smart enough, but their usability and simplicity are very poor. Because whether you need it or not, the keyboard is there.

With Jobs's voice, a strange phone with a huge dial keypad was projected on the screen, and a kind laugh came from the stage.

Jobs couldn't help but laugh.

With a slight adjustment, he continued his own statement:

How do we solve this problem? It's simple, just remove the dial pad and replace it with a huge screen with a numeric keypad.

With Jobs's live demonstration, thunderous applause rang out in the venue.

yes. Almost everyone guessed that it was called the iPhone, and was amazed by its performance, but almost no one guessed its shape. It was one of my proudest moments at Apple.

Afterwards, Jobs recalled.

Under Jobs's leadership, Apple has become the most valuable and admirable company in the world with the rhythm of launching new products every year.

So that, after Jobs's death, Apple was still able to follow his will and continue to achieve product update iterations.

Jobs used his own life trajectory to perfectly explain to the world:

The most perfect curtain of life is not a comeback, but the return of the king.

Remembering Jobs: Life is short, it's not hard to give up, and it's cooler to stick to it

One day in 2010, while browsing Apple's App Store, Jobs found a mobile app called Siri.

Despite his serious illness and lack of energy, he quickly approached the developer and engaged in a three-hour conversation.

After that, Jobs did not hesitate to acquire the R&D team.

Today, if you ask Siri: How to become Jobs?

Siri's answer: Keep being yourself.

Ordinary life, heroic dreams.

Pray for every ordinary you and me in ordinary life:

Be a snail that tries to climb or a stupid bird that insists on flying, and one day you will stand in the brightest place and live like you once longed for.

Share.
