Kuomintang county magistrate opposes restarting nuclear four, Ma Ying-jeou: The nuclear security issue can be handled

Ma Ying-jeou, a former leader of the Taiwan region who advocates the restart of nuclear power plants, said today that in Japan, including Kyushu, many nuclear power plants are covered near the fault zone, and this problem is not a problem at all, he stressed that nuclear four is very safe and not dangerous, and if you look at Japan, you know that nuclear waste already has a plan for safe disposal, don't worry.

Lai Shibao, a "legislator" of the Chinese Kuomintang, held a "referendum" briefing meeting at Taipei's Muxin Market in the morning, inviting Ma Ying-jeou and Hao Longbin, former vice chairman of the Kuomintang, to the meeting. When Ma Ying-jeou talked about restarting the "referendum" on nuclear power, he frankly said that he ordered the sealing that year, "sealing is not abolished," but waiting for the appropriate time to unseal, just like the anti-submarine aircraft bought from the United States is sealed, just like putting away winter clothes when spring comes, this is the concept of sealing.

Ma Ying-jeou believes that now is the appropriate time to restart the nuclear power plant, because of the 815 power outages in 2017, the successive power outages on May 13 and 17 this year, and two major blackouts in four years, representing the warning signal of Taiwan's lack of electricity, which has never appeared in Taiwan's history, and Tsai Ing-wen has created history.

Ma Ying-jeou said that restarting nuclear four can deal with the lack of electricity, avoid rising electricity prices, and reduce air pollution. In 2018, the nuclear green "referendum" passed, and the support of nuclear power plants in New Taipei and Pingtung reached 60%, and the world began to regard nuclear power as green power, because nuclear energy does not emit carbon.

Asked that after Yilan County Governor Lin Zimiao opposed the restart of Nuclear Fourth, Miaoli County Governor Xu Yaochang also stated that "if it is not safe, it is not in favor of the nuclear four business transfer", Ma Ying-jeou said that if there is a nuclear security problem now, he will certainly not advocate the restart of nuclear fourth, stressing that "this problem has been solved in the same year" and that the nuclear security problem can be handled.

As for the "Supervision Commission" correcting the nuclear case before the "referendum", does it affect the result of the "referendum" vote? Ma Ying-jeou said that he did not dare to talk about how much impact he had, but the timing was very interesting, especially the proposal was made by the DPP's "supervisory commission" who was always anti-nuclear, so his credibility was probably insufficient.
