Shanlan, also known as "Mountain Lan" and "Shanhe", is different from traditional rice, and it is a unique mountain upland rice in the Li ethnic region of Hainan.
According to reports, "Laomen" means "celebrate the harvest and eat new rice" in the Li language. Every year around November, it is the harvest season of The Li ethnic group in Hainan, and the simple Baisha Li people warmly invite guests from all over the world to taste the new rice of the mountain orchid and celebrate the harvest together, in order to thank nature for the gift.
