Shanlan, also known as "Mountain Lan" and "Shanhe", is different from traditional rice, and it is a unique mountain upland rice in the Li ethnic region of Hainan.

According to reports, "Laomen" means "celebrate the harvest and eat new rice" in the Li language. Every year around November, it is the harvest season of The Li ethnic group in Hainan, and the simple Baisha Li people warmly invite guests from all over the world to taste the new rice of the mountain orchid and celebrate the harvest together, in order to thank nature for the gift.

Memorabilia of "La-Omen"

In 2017, the relevant departments of Baisha Li Autonomous County officially established the custom of "La Aomen" in Qingsong Township as a county-level intangible cultural heritage.

In 2018, during the Baisha "Laomen" harvest festival, the regional public brand of Baisha agricultural products "Baisha Good Food" was officially released.

In 2019, the brand of Baisha "Laomen" Harvest Festival was upgraded to the Baisha "Laomen" Shanlan Cultural Festival.

In July 2020, CCTV's large-scale documentary "Chinese Image Fangzhi" broadcast "Hainan Roll Baisha Chapter", focusing on Baisha's efforts to help local farmers broaden the road to industrial prosperity by organizing the "La Aomen" Shanlan Cultural Festival.
