Overseas Chinese, also known as "silver letter", refers to the remittance vouchers and family letters sent to China by overseas Chinese in modern times, which is a kind of "remittance slip" and "letter" integrated postal carrier, and the recorded information is widely involved in the political, economic, social, cultural and other fields at that time, and the content is informative and rich. At present, the Kaiping City Museum has a collection of more than 1300 silver letters (sets).
Overseas Chinese have witnessed the history of immigration, entrepreneurship and their contributions to the economic and social development of the host country and the motherland, and are the core link between overseas Chinese and their families, hometowns and motherlands.
At the scene of the event, the release ceremony of the overseas Chinese silver letter logo and the launch ceremony of the song "A Paper Love - Song of Silver Letter" were also held. It also unveiled the red culture and integrity education base jointly built by Kaiping City Museum and Kaiping Rural Commercial Bank.
