His eldest son, John Quincy Adams, served as the sixth president of the United States (March 4, 1825 – March 4, 1829). William Henry Harrison, born into a family of Virginia planters, was the ninth president of the United States (March 4, 1841 – April 4, 1841), the shortest president in U.S. history. One month after he was sworn in, he died of illness. William Henry Harrison's father, Benjamin Harrison, was a founding father of the United States, a delegate to the First Continental Congress, and one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence. His grandson, Benjamin Harrison, was the 23rd President of the United States (March 4, 1889 – March 3, 1893). This is the only pair of grandchildren in U.S. history.

George Herbert Walker Bush, also known as George Bush, was the 41st president of the United States. During bush's administration, domestic affairs were mediocre, but diplomatically active. His eldest son, George Herbert Walker Bush, known as George W. Bush, was the 43rd President of the United States (January 20, 2001 – January 20, 2009). During his tenure, George W. Bush suffered the September 11, 2001 9/11 incident in New York, usa, which he also used to launch successive wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Lyndon B. Johnson was the 36th President of the United States (November 22, 1963 – January 20, 1969). Although the two presidents share the same surname, they are not related to each other.

Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt were fifth cousins themselves, while Franklin's wife, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, was Theodore's niece, so the two presidents were also uncles and nephews.

Zachary Taylor, twelfth President (4 March 1849 – 9 July 1850). Zachary Taylor won many battles on the battlefield, won elections with military merit, but his political performance was not satisfactory, and finally due to the complexity of factional struggles, he died of illness during his tenure (arsenic was detected in his body). Taylor was the second U.S. president to die in office after William Henry Harrison. John Tyler, served as the 10th President of the United States (April 4, 1841 – March 4, 1845). Succeeded by the 9th President, William Henry Harrison, due to illness, was the first to succeed him as President as Vice President due to the death of an incumbent President. There is currently no evidence of a relationship between Zachary Taylor and John Taylor. It is worth mentioning that Zachary Taylor and the 4th president, James Madison, are the second cousins.
These kinships are a microcosm of the intricate family ties behind American politics. It is no exaggeration to say that every presidential campaign is a game of major families and capital forces.
