On April 24, 51 years ago, China's first artificial earth satellite "Dongfanghong I" was successfully launched, opening a new era in China's space industry, and China's space environment forecasting industry also began. The Space Environment Forecasting Center of the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences not only provides accurate forecasts to ensure the smooth execution of space missions, but also passes on the fire of scientific research and education from generation to generation under the leadership of generations of scientists.

Du Heng, a researcher at the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that educating people is carried out in the whole system and cultivated through daily work. DuHeng introduced that in 1965, the basic plan of "Dongfanghong I" was determined, in the face of various space environmental influences that may be encountered in space during the launch of Dongfanghong I, Mr. Zhao Jiuzhang, Duheng's teacher, took the initiative to ask for help and used the task to teach Du Heng and several colleagues to start scientific research work on space environment forecasting. In the environment at that time, Du Heng and his colleagues needed to go to the literature to find information by themselves, and report to Mr. Zhao Jiuzhang every week, and Mr. Zhao Jiuzhang would help to analyze and summarize, and through this task with a disciplinary approach, cultivate new people in the process of completing the task.

With the continuous practice of the mission-belt discipline method in the Space Environment Forecast Center, the educational atmosphere has gradually formed in the Space Environment Forecast Center, and this way of honing the mentality in the mission has deeply affected Du Heng and his colleagues in the Forecast Center. In the actual battle of guaranteeing the space environment such as manned spaceflight and lunar exploration projects, Gong Jiancun, Liu Siqing and other leaders of central disciplines have stood out, and the seeds of scientific research and education have also been transmitted. After graduating from graduate school in 2003, Zhong Qiuzhen, who was engaged in space environment forecasting and support services, received the training process of the older generation of forecasters to "pass on the help", and she had completed the study of forecasting services under the personal guidance of Liu Siqing and Shi Liqin in the research room.

In the practice of scientific research, the dedication of "passing on the help and leading" has given the young scientific and technological talents of the forecast center more opportunities to "pick the beam" in major scientific research tasks. In 2008, Luo Bingxian, who was not yet 30 years old, participated in the space environment protection work of Shenzhou 7, providing forecasts for the country's first astronaut out of the capsule activity and other related forecasts of geomagnetic activity conditions. The center's systematic way of educating people provides a bigger stage for young talents, makes outstanding young talents stand out, and also injects a steady stream of development momentum into the forecast center. Today, in key space missions such as the Chinese space station and Tianwen-1, young forecasters have become the backbone of space environment forecasting. ForecastEr Yuan Tianjiao, Forecast No. 39 of the Forecast Center, and Lu Guorui, backbone member of the system group, are all hands-on experiencers of "old with new", and they work with old forecasters during the training period to learn and accumulate forecasting skills.

Facing the dream of building a space power, the Forecast Center actively assumes the historical responsibility of "educating people for the country". In the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the courses of "Space Environment Forecasting" and "Frontiers of Space Weather" are set up to compile and translate textbooks; in view of the needs of multiple departments of the country, joint education bases are set up to carry out business training to vigorously support the development of China's spatial environment situational awareness ability; an innovative workshop for artificial intelligence space environment early warning is established to carry out the training of joint graduate students and forecaster teams.

The spirit of educating people is the source of the spirit of Chinese scientists, scientific and technological innovation is passed down from generation to generation, and the cultivation of scientific reserve talents is the basis for the sustainable development of science and technology. Caring for and cultivating young people is an important mission shouldered by every generation of scientists. Keeping in mind the original intention and mission of the "red forecaster", the Space Environment Forecasting Center uses accurate forecasts to ensure the smooth implementation of previous space missions, sets up a new monument to the exploration of space Chinese, and also adheres to the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and strengthening the country with talents, and inherits the spirit of educating people who are willing to be a ladder and reward and learn after the reward".
