"Chinese Celebrities" Qing. Ronglu

Rong Lu (1836-1903) Character Zhonghua, Trumpet Garden, Guar Jia clan, Manchurian Zhengbai Banner people. Late Qing dynasty chancellor, politician, mainly active in the middle and late Guangxu Dynasty. Rong Lu was born into a family of officers, and was promoted to a foreign minister of the Ministry of Works. During the Tongzhi period, he served as the minister of internal affairs and the Shangshu of the Ministry of Works, and in 1874, the Tongzhi Emperor died, and Rong Lu participated in the determination of Zai Xiang (i.e., the Guangxu Emperor) to succeed to the throne, which was relied on by Empress Dowager Cixi. In 1879, because of empress dowager Cixi, he was impeached for bribery and demoted to the second rank, and he was removed from office for more than ten years. At the end of 1891, he became the General of Xi'an. During the Sino-Japanese War, because of the trust of Empress Dowager Cixi, he stayed in Beijing as the commander of the infantry army, the prime minister Yamen Minister, and the bingbu Shangshu. He was appointed as a scholar of Mandarin University and a minister of military aircraft. A powerful figure in the coup d'état of Empress Dowager Cixi. Guangxu twenty-ninth year (1903) died, Tan Wenzhong, gifted Taifu, Jin first class baron. Her daughter, Guarjia Youlan, was the biological mother of the last emperor Puyi and was adopted as an adopted daughter by Empress Dowager Cixi.

Rong Lu played a complex role in the political events of the late Qing Dynasty, such as the Penghu Reform Law, the Jihai Jianchu, and the Gengzi State Change, and historical evaluations were also controversial.
