From November 8th to 10th, the 23rd (2019 and 2020) East China Ancient Books Excellent Book Award Conference was held in Hefei.
The conference was hosted by Huangshan Book Club, and representatives of 15 publishing units, including Shanghai People's Publishing House, Shanghai Calligraphy and Painting Publishing House, Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House, Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press, Shanghai Dictionary Publishing House, Guangling Book Club, Chinese and Western Bookstore, Phoenix Publishing House, East China Normal University Press, Qilu Book Society, Jiangxi People's Publishing House, Zhejiang Ancient Books Publishing House, Fujian People's Publishing House, and Huangshan Book Club, attended the award ceremony. In accordance with the "Measures for the Evaluation of Excellent Books in East China", 14 expert judges carefully reviewed and professionally reviewed 120 kinds of books in 2019 and 111 kinds of books and materials for 2020 from 18 publishing houses. After strict secret balloting, 3 kinds of honorary awards, 10 kinds of special prizes, 26 kinds of first prizes, 53 kinds of second prizes, and 10 kinds of awards for excellent popular reading of ancient books in 2020 were finally selected; 10 kinds of special prizes, 26 kinds of first prizes, 48 kinds of second prizes and 9 kinds of excellent popular book awards of ancient books in 2020 were finally selected.
Huangshan Book Club won a total of 17 kinds of books, including the honorary award of "Fang Yizhi Quanshu" in 2019, 2 kinds of "Selected Writings of the Qing Dynasty" won the first prize, 4 kinds of books such as "The Five Compilations of Jiangnan Women's Collections" won the second prize, "Standing on the Shoulders of Zhuangzi" won the Award for Excellent Popular Reading in Ancient Books; in 2020, "The Complete Works of Mei Wending" won the special prize; "Liu Mingchuan Literature Notes" and other 2 kinds of books won the first prize; 5 books such as "Jiangnan Jinshi Collection History" won the second prize; "Ancient Female Poetry Biography" won the second prize. Won the Outstanding Popular Reading Award for Ancient Books.
It is reported that the ancient book appraisal activities in East China have been carried out for 23 sessions so far, and the member units have grown year by year, and the quality of the participating books has been excellent, which has effectively promoted the publication of ancient books and made important contributions to the promotion and dissemination of China's excellent traditional culture.
