On November 10, the fifth day of the Chongqing girl Xingxing (pseudonym) entering the isolation ward, the 4-year-old was in a good state of mind, and after breakfast, she took out the plasticine and sat on the bed to concentrate on playing. She was accompanied not only by the medical staff, but also by her mother.

Xingxing is the youngest patient in Chongqing's local confirmed cases of COVID-19. On the evening of November 6, because she tested positive for nucleic acid, she accompanied by a pediatrician from the isolation point in a negative pressure ambulance to the Chongqing Public Health Medical Treatment Center for further diagnosis and treatment, and was diagnosed the next day. Four days ago, her parents were diagnosed as confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia and asymptomatic infected people, respectively, and were also isolated and observed in the same hospital.

"The child was very small, a little scared when she came, our staff has been with her, the psychologist has also provided psychological counseling, constantly comforting her, the center also invited experts from the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University to consult and treat her." Li Peibo, head of the medical department of the Chongqing Municipal Public Health Center, said.

Parents have been infected, and Xingxing's condition has touched everyone's heart.

The relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission told reporters that after careful study and judgment, after being admitted to the hospital, Xingxing was arranged to live in the same ward as his mother to ease his nervousness.

"She developed mild nasal congestion and cough symptoms after admission, and with the company of her relatives, her sense of security will be stronger, her compliance will be better, her cooperation with treatment will be better, and she and her mother's source of infection are the same, and the mother and daughter living in the same ward can take into account the safety of the hospital and the patient's condition." Yuan Guodan, director of the intensive care department of the Chongqing Municipal Public Health Center, told reporters.

After entering the ward, the stars that had not seen my mother for a few days were happy and broken, and I kept talking and laughing with my mother. Li Peibo said that in the ward, mother and daughter often communicate and play games. With the company and care of his mother, Xingxing's mood has stabilized a lot, and he basically did not cry.

Due to the mild symptoms of Xingxing, the hospital currently mainly treats her with traditional Chinese medicine decoctions, and customizes a loving children's meal for her according to the characteristics of the child. "She likes to eat scrambled eggs with tomatoes and shredded potatoes, and her daily diet and rest are more regular, and her appetite is good." Yuan Guodan said.

According to the medical staff, the star is more lively in the ward, in order to encourage her to drink medicine, everyone got a small blackboard, and each time they drank medicine, they posted a small red flower as encouragement. The hospital also prepared some children's toys for her to play with plasticine and draw.

"When I once asked her what her hobbies were, the little girl thought about it for half a day, replied that she was painting, and I asked her if she had the conditions to paint in the ward, and she said that there was paper and pen, but there was no drawing board. Later, we gave feedback to the nursing department and tried to meet her needs as much as possible. Yuan Guodan said.

With the company of her daughter, the recent anxiety of The Star Mother has also eased.

"As long as the child can stay with the mother, she will feel happy and conducive to the early recovery of the mother and daughter." Yuan Guodan said.
