Northern Shan State news, in recent days, a bridge connecting the Nandu-Shab highway has been paralyzed by local traffic because of the buried mines. When they learned that there was a bomb on the bridge, the local people did not dare to pass, and the buses were blocked on both sides of the bridge and could not pass.

A local resident of Ban Long village said that on November 8, an unknown armed gang planted a mine on the bridge, and we do not know which armed force planted it. The Maud Bridge has activities of the Southern Shan State Army (RCSS) in the direction of Xibu, and the Northern Shan State Army (SSPP) and the Deang National Liberation Army (TNLA) armed movement in the direction of Ban Long. Because there are no witnesses, it is not clear which armed mine it was.

On 9 November, gunfire rang out near the Maud Bridge, and buses planning to cross the Maude Bridge to Nandu had to return to Shab where they were. Because of the epidemic situation, the SSPP and TNLA armed forces have strengthened epidemic prevention measures in Ban Long Village, and local villagers can only go to Xibu Town twice a week to purchase materials and run businesses.

Passenger drivers who regularly travel to and from the Namsan-Mandalay section say that in the past, we traveled from the Ban Long area to Shaab, which saved us a lot of time. Now because there are bombs on the bridge, we can only walk around from Lashio. From March to early June this year, fierce fighting broke out between the RCSS forces and the SSPP and TNLA forces.
