From scum to first grade, what should we do as parents?

author:Cherryxu

Raising children should stand on a longer time scale, do not have to rush for a while, choose the right direction, the rest is left to time, let us wait for the blossoms.

My husband and I both graduated from the 985 key universities, and we grew up in an independent learning model that was not disciplined. Therefore, the study of her daughter was not radical, there was no early articulation, no advance teaching, and she learned to dance and paint with the current.

When she first entered elementary school, reality gave me and my dad a loud slap in the face. She can't pinyin, she can't write, the addition and subtraction within 10 digits will not, the learning progress can't keep up, and in the first two months, I deeply experienced what is called soldiers and horses, what is called a writing homework chicken flying dog jump.

Next, my father and I accompanied her to think of many ways to solve the problem of not keeping up with the learning progress, such as the language accompanied her to prepare in advance, review after class, repeated dictation and writing; mathematics accompanied her to recite the operation of the oral recipe; English accompanied her to read the text repeatedly... After a few months of perseverance, her progress is obvious, but it can only be regarded as just keeping up with the progress of learning.

By the second semester of the first grade, she no longer resisted writing homework and was able to complete it smoothly with my company.

So, I had a new idea, and the school required 30 minutes of reading every day. I started buying the recommended books for her to read, but found that she was not interested and looked like she had no love. So I chose some comic books that were more interesting to show her, and this look was out of control. In the more than half a year since April this year, she has read more than 80 books.

You read that right, for more than half a year, she read about 80 books, and the picture book stories were not counted. At this stage, considering the limited amount of literacy, the books she reads are mainly comics, and some of them are in written versions.

The list of books is as follows:

18 insect schools

Daddy in pocket 14 copies

Encyclopædia Britannica 35 copies

The Story of the Stupid Wolf 6 books

Ren Dissolve series of stories 6 books

If the history is a bunch of meows 4 books

Children's edition of the Classic of Mountains and Seas 3 books

Then, in the final exams of the second semester of the first grade, she took the first place in the grade. Math and Science 100 points, Chinese 99, English 98. Hearing this news, I just told her: Good job, it seems that our efforts during this time are quite effective, continue to maintain!

A short period of inability to keep up with the pace of learning does not mean that there is no room for improvement, and a test score does not guarantee that she can always be excellent. In the process of raising children, it is necessary to understand the child's situation in time, review and adjust the learning method in time to make progress. Cultivating good reading habits is a lifelong thing, and sticking to it will definitely have incredible gains.
