On the afternoon of November 10, the Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision interviewed 18 large shopping malls, supermarkets, wholesale markets and egg production enterprises in our city on the rise in the market prices of vegetables, aquatic products and other commodities that are closely related to the lives of the people. Merchants are required to sell commodities in strict accordance with the government's advocacy price issued by the municipal government, earnestly fulfill their social responsibilities, strengthen price self-discipline, operate strictly according to law, achieve clear price marking, honest operation, and legally and reasonably exercise independent pricing power. All merchants should take immediate action to self-examine and self-correct their sales behavior.
Affected by the recent epidemic and weather, a series of problems such as the rise in the price of people's livelihood commodities have been triggered, and individual operators have taken the opportunity of the surge in demand to raise the prices of related commodities, violating laws and regulations such as price and consumer rights protection.
On November 8, the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau urgently issued the "Reminder and Warning Letter on Market Price Behavior During the Epidemic Prevention and Control Period", and at the same time, the city immediately checked large supermarkets and farmers' markets, focusing on investigating the price fluctuations of grain, oil, meat and eggs and vegetables for people's livelihood commodities, combined with the complaints and reports of the masses, timely handling in accordance with the law, and effectively responding to social concerns.
During the investigation, it was found that the sales price of 13 kinds of vegetable commodities promoted by a large supermarket (the pre-discount price marked) was higher than the original price (the lowest transaction price of the same kind of goods in the store within seven days before this promotion), which was suspected of false preferential discounting. The bureau promptly filed a case for investigation and will punish it quickly and severely in accordance with the Provisions on Administrative Penalties for Price Violations.
The Municipal Market Supervision Bureau quickly implemented the spirit of the municipal government meeting, in view of the current sharp rise in the price of vegetables in our city, the concentration of citizens to buy, the public opinion reflected a large problem, the municipal market supervision department sent personnel to enter the city's 5 large wholesale markets, urging enterprises to respond to the government's call and resolutely implement the price requirements.
