Songting Pass, the ancient name of The Pass. The original site was in the southwest of present-day Kuancheng Manchu Autonomous County. Closing the door is dangerous, and the ground is a traffic hole. During the Liao Dynasty, from Yanjing (southwest of present-day Beijing) to Daning, Zhongjing (present-day west of Ningcheng, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region), each route was taken here. In the early Ming Dynasty, King Di of Yan plotted to merge Daning from Yongping (present-day Lulong, Hebei), and in order to pass the danger of Longsai, he attacked Daning from Liujiakou (劉家口, 34 km north of present-day Lulong County, Qinhuangdao) and took Songting. It was originally a military defensive stronghold established shortly after the Khitans established the Liao State. Dading Province (大定府, in modern Daning, present-day Ningcheng) was the capital of the Liao Dynasty, and its strategic position as a southern pass against the Northern Expedition of the Central Plains was very important. Emperor Shi Jingyao betrayed Yanyun Sixteen Prefectures, enabling Liao to gain a large area of land into the Central Plains, controlling the key points of Northern China, and establishing Yanjing (present-day Beijing) as one of the five capitals of the Liao State, named Nanjing. The Liao coexisted with the Northern Song Dynasty, and the dividing line between the two sides was on the Juma River (Baigou River). At this point, the defensive line in southern Liaoning was moved from the south of the original Songting Pass to Xiongzhou (present-day Xiong County, Baoding, Hebei) on the banks of the Baigou River in the interior, and Songting Pass lost its defensive role as a pass to defend the capital daning in liaoning.
