It's a true world of ice and fire, and the wind that roars from October to March "blows people to the bone." As a bipolar holy place, it is violent and restless, pure and holy, like a chaste martyr who adheres to tradition and keeps herself xenophobic. Walk through the secret realms of glaciers, lakes, dense forests, canyons and deserts, and catch a glimpse of mountain lions, ostriches, grey foxes, vultures and burrowing owls, while also perceiving the emptiness, smallness, awe, freedom and detachment of the heart. The trip across Argentina and Chile challenged the team's expeditionary spirit and survival cap. After the end of the trip, a group of people, after several bumps, completed the horseback crossing of Machu Picchu.

On 31 February 2019, the HHL Globetrotters embarked on a visit to Rajasthan. They crossed the City of Four Colors in this hot land of kings' strife. In Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, one glimpses the glory and magnificence of yesteryear. Ride a war horse (Marwari breed) from antiquity, avoid popular areas with rave reviews, and wander among traditional ancient villages. In the miniature paintings, fabric paintings and frescoes flowing in the faint light, in the dust of the twilight path, all the perceptions are related to the knight's sword, the whirling dance skirt, the roar of the war horse and the bright lights. In addition to the ancient city that shines in the desert, the team members also explored the scattered temples and royal tomb ruins, looking for the broken fragments hidden in the ruts of history.

Edmund Jin is the founder of HHL Globetrotter and the founder of the Harbor House brand, just two horseback rides he personally initiated and participated in. The label that surrounds him is also bipolar. One pole is the wisdom and restraint required for the company to operate, and the other pole is the passion and adventure that global travelers have.

In his opinion, a good designer and businessman must be a traveler, able to experience the unknown with his eyes and heart. As a result, he has traveled to a great deal of places and has an infinite passion for exploring the "virgin land" where humans have rarely set foot. Travel is a way of life he loves, and it is also a way for him to reconstruct cognition and generate innovative thinking.

While hunting in the wild, Edmund Jin stumbled upon the Harbor House inn on the Pacific coast of Northern California and was immediately drawn to the stunning ocean views and rustic life. Three years later, he became the owner of the inn. Since then, he has embarked on a journey to share this mountain and sea, and later the Harbor House home furnishing brand and HHL Global Travel.

Edmund Jin believes that the identity of a globetrotter has given me a deeper understanding of the world we live in, because with a broader perspective, I also have my own independent views on the phenomena in society and the problems we face, and it is not easy to be affected by any propaganda, but I can tell me what the real world of the people around me is like, it is often not what you imagine in your mind... Just like The Harbour House, which promotes a relaxed and uninhibited lifestyle, pursues the concept of the integration of man and nature. These thoughts are probably related to the experience of Edmund Jin and his friend Victor catching abalone on the sea floor many years ago.

In response to questions from the interview, he said: "Horseback tourism and backpacker walking tours are different from 90% of traditional tourism. Horseback tour allows you to avoid the decorated tourist attractions, freely walk into the real living environment of the locals, and see the unmodified human face, which is essentially a kind of unfettered free travel. That's part of The Harbor House brand philosophy. ”

The experience of cutting longitude and latitude, deconstructing cognition, interrogating mountains and seas, exploring the truth, and decades of business experience have given Edmund Jin a full say in the feasibility and methodology of answering the overall home.

Edmund Jin is a "twilight traveler who swims towards the blue sea". He has left traces there before many areas have been "lifted" by the light and luxurious tourist gimmicks.

In the Arctic, Edmund Jin chases narwhals deep in the Arctic Ocean; in Tonga, he swims with bigfin whales; on Kona Island, Hawaii, he meets whitetip sharks head-on; in Canada, he takes a helicopter to the top of the snow-capped mountains and gallops down on his skis; in Guyana, he descends from the Keetur Waterfall rope to the river valley; in the deep forests of Appalachia, full of black bears and rattlesnakes, he searches for wild ginseng...

In the concept of horizontal space, Edmund Jin travels back and forth between the north and south poles; in the concept of longitudinal space, the "explorer" can also be "on par" with Bell Greerth. He is passionate about diving, jungle adventure, wilderness riding, delta wing flying, surfing, skiing, sailing, polo and more. For this way of life, he gave his own understanding.

He said that everyone knows that exercise is good for good health, but it is more important to pay attention to the fact that excessive single-type exercise will have the opposite effect. Every part of the human body actually has its service life. Just like the parts of a machine, no matter how you maintain them, excessive use will cause the life of the parts to end. So when I choose this exercise, I get involved in a variety of different types of exercise, in large part because different exercises use different joints and muscles of the body. When you can enjoy the vitality and happiness brought by sports throughout the year, you can also make the body and mind develop more balanced. At the same time, different sports have different requirements for climate and weather, such as calm wind and waves, suitable for diving, fishing, cycling, etc., which is the perfect weather for these sports. But for kite surfing, flying, etc., this is the weather that cannot be played. So being passionate about different sports has allowed me to have the perfect choice in any weather and make life full of fun.

Edmund Jin has a complete and professional travel team. The HHL team recruits experience officers from around the world and shares their experiences and feelings. The team planned many horseback trips, but Edmund Jin didn't think he was building a horseback travel route, "I didn't create any horseback travel routes, I just chose where I wanted to go, and then arranged our individually formulated itineraries to ensure that our itineraries were unique." ”

Speaking about his impressive horseback travel experience, Edmund Jin bluntly said that every experience was impressive, "If you have to choose one, maybe it is through the Thar Desert." In the Indian state of Rajasthan, I feel the most profound way from palace to palace horseback. It was a 300-mile horseback trip, and we followed the routes of the former royals, passing through remote villages and towns, and living in the palaces they used to live in. In those distant villages and towns, we experienced the grand situation of the whole village going out of the village to welcome us uninvited guests. In the desert, there are also our big tents destroyed by desert storms, and we are really impressed by the innocent and pure smiling faces of those children, the arms waving in the air to welcome, and the thick and simple enthusiasm of the villagers. ”

The HHL team didn't rely on these routes to attract tourists for profit, but they were undoubtedly attractive. Connecting a variety of landforms and cultural relics, these horseback experiences lit up a long light in the hearts of participants.

At the end of the interview, the veteran horseback traveler gave him some advice on horseback travel in China. He believes that a good horseback trip, its itinerary is a cultural and visual feast. Avoid the traditional tourist attractions as much as possible, delve into the lives of the locals, walk along the tunnels of time, and restore history. China's urban construction is too fast, there are too many people, and it feels that only Xinjiang, Tibet, yunnan and other places can develop a good horseback route. All in all, a good horseback route is characterized by a small number of tourists and a natural and cultural environment that is primitive enough. There is a little less change than in the past. If these routes can be guaranteed in logistics, food and accommodation are good, it is more perfect. (Article from Equestrian Magazine April 2021 article/Harbor House Life)
