The birds were rescued in time
Chenjia Town is the easternmost town of Chongming Island, the well-known Shanghai Chongming Dongtan Bird National Nature Reserve is located here, there are many wild birds in the jurisdiction, and there are enthusiastic citizens who call the police to rescue injured birds.
In the early morning of October 14, Ms. Guo, who was preparing breakfast at home, heard the sound of something continuously hitting the glass, looked for the sound, and found that a bird that looked like an owl and a small sparrow both fell to the ground, she did not dare to delay, and hurriedly called the police for help.
In the past, the information of police and civilians working together to rescue wild animals was positively publicized through the "Police Show Chongming" public account, and this time Ms. Guo encountered a similar situation and chose to call the police for help for help at the first time. The police contacted the forestry station staff to the scene and identified this "owl" as an eagle owl, which belongs to the national second-level protected animal and has been treated without hindrance.

According to statistics, Chongming Public Security has participated in the rescue and treatment of 23 national second-level protected birds this year, including the giant eagle (kuáng) recorded for the first time in Shanghai after 1943 and the longitudinal-bellied owl recorded in Shanghai to the 507th species.

Since the beginning of this year, Chongming Public Security has taken the implementation of the central "Yangtze River fishing ban" decision-making deployment as the command, deeply promoted the special action to crack down on illegal fishing, and effectively created a high-pressure situation of "dare not catch, cannot catch, and do not want to catch", and effectively protected the ecological environment of the Yangtze River waters.
On May 12, the Chongming Public Security Investigation Detachment targeted Du Mou, a man who sold wild fish on the Yangtze River, based on clues, and initially determined that he was suspected of illegal fishing.

"Basically he came out every night to go fishing in the cage, and we had a rehearsal of his funds, and if we transferred money on WeChat alone, there were hundreds of thousands of yuan." After a long period of peripheral investigation of Du, the police handling the case found out his law of action. That night, the police formulated an arrest plan and arrested Du on the only way to go home from fishing, and the stolen goods were also captured.
Ground cage net, also known as the net of the extinct household, the ecstasy cage, because the hole of the ground cage is small, it is difficult for juvenile fish and shrimp to escape after entering, and the extermination of fish resources is immeasurable, and it is a fishing tool prohibited by the state. When the police handling the case searched out a large number of ground cages in Du's home, they called out that it was rare to see. In the end, the criminal suspect Du Mou was arrested by the procuratorate for suspected illegal fishing of aquatic products in accordance with the law.

"To crack this illegal fishing case, we have a complete clue through the 'River Sheriff'." According to Zhu Ting, deputy head of the investigation detachment, Chongming Public Security has established and improved a system of 266 "river sheriffs" at five levels, and continuously improved the ability and awareness of the overall river police chief to perform their duties through organizing special training and case analysis.
Catching the "Bird Fighter" in a Drunken Dream
In the past, due to the weak awareness of the rule of law and the bad habit of eating wild game, citizens in rural areas repeatedly banned illegal hunting, transportation, purchase and trafficking of wild animals. Since the whole area of Chongming was designated as a wildlife game reserve in November 2016, the Chongming Public Security Bureau has cracked down on illegal hunting crimes with a "zero tolerance" attitude and has made every effort to forge a "sword" for ecological civilization and protection.
In early February 2021, the Chongming Public Security Bureau had a clue about the illegal hunting of wild birds, several of which were suspected of illegally possessing shotguns and ammunition.

After expanding the line, at 5:00 a.m. on February 6, the Chongming Public Security Bureau organized four arrest teams to break the door at the same time, successfully destroyed the illegal hunting gang, arrested 11 criminal suspects, and seized 185 frozen wild birds.
