The Russian embassy in Iran said diplomats were investigating the case but had not received any legal notice from Iranian authorities. Andrei Ganenko, the embassy's public relations specialist, noted that the Iranian side did not inform Russian diplomats when the journalist's passport was confiscated. "As far as we know, Yuzk arrived in Tehran on 29 September at a private invitation," Andrea said. Upon arrival, the International Airport Border Patrol seized her passport for reasons unknown.
