With former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones still undecided when he will return to the field, UFC superstar Jon Jones has announced that he has hired Richard Schaefer, the former CEO of Golden Boy, as his new adviser.
Jones has recently parted ways with First Round Management.
"I've hired Richard Schaefer as my consultant," Jones said. Richard has been working in the field of combat sports for more than 20 years, during which time he has promoted some very big hit PPV competitions. Like Undefeated American Boxing Champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., legendary Boxing Champion Oscar De La Hoya, popular superstar Canelo Alvarez, "Executioner" Bernard Hopkins, Mexican "Babyface Assassin" Marco Antonio Barrera And The Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez are the protagonists of the wonderful battle promoted and produced by Richard.

Jones, a former UFC light heavyweight champion and considered one of the best MMA boxers of all time, has not returned to the octagon since February 2020.
He is expected to return as a heavyweight.
Over the past few months, there have been heated talks between Jones and UFC President Dana White — as Jones wants a hefty appearance fee to stage a PPV battle with the new UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou for fans.
Shafer parted ways with the Golden Boy in 2014. He later founded his own promotional company, Ringstar Sports.
One of Shafer's boxers, Philippine veteran "Lightning" Nonito Donaire, will challenge WBC wean champion Nordine Oubaali this Saturday night local time.
The longtime boxing enthusiast is thrilled to partner with Jones for his new business.
