Characters | After a two-year absence, the Golden Boy is back

In the early morning of the 26th, 37-year-old Spanish legend Fernando Torres announced on his personal social account that he would make a comeback, and according to media reports, he would officially announce his next step on Friday. This is also his return to the green field after 2 years of retirement.

Torres writes: "I understand life in only one way, and that is to play football. So I decided to come back. I will announce my whereabouts this Friday. He even attached some expressions with football elements, as well as labels such as "The Return of the Holy Child" and "I'm playing football again." Torres' update also sparked more than 200,000 likes from netizens, including his strike partner David Villa for the national team.

Born in 1984, Torres plays as a striker and is a well-known football star in the world, playing for Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, AC Milan and other top European giants in his career. He made his career debut for Atletico at the age of 17 and became Atletico's youngest captain at the age of 19. During his time at Atletico, he made 244 appearances for the team in all competitions, contributing 91 goals. In 2007, at the age of 23, Torres landed in the Premier League and joined the giants Liverpool, where he also reached the peak of his career.

Torres then joined Chelsea in January 2011 for a transfer fee of €58.5 million, setting a record for a transfer fee in the winter window at the time. Despite a sharp decline in goal efficiency at the Blues, he won the only Champions League trophy of his career. Later, after returning to Atletico, Torres also won the Europa League. At the national team level, he has gained a lot. In the 2006 World Cup, he was already a standing main player in the Spanish team, and in 2008 and 2012, he won the European Championship with the team twice, and he was also the first player in history to score in two consecutive finals, and in South Africa in 2010, he also joined his teammates in the first time in the history of the team to lift the Hercules Cup.

At the end of his career, he came to Japan to develop, and finally retired from the Japanese league team Tosu Shayan in June 2019, after which he devoted himself to fitness for a while, training a strong muscle, and in recent times, he has returned to football and joined the coaching staff of the Atletico Academy. Perhaps with great confidence in his body and athletic form, Torres, now 37, announced his comeback, and no matter which team he ultimately chooses to play for, he hopes that the former "Golden Boy" will be all right in the future.
