Former Ubisoft animator Jonathan Cooper confirmed the authenticity of Prince of Persia: Redemption, which he worked on from 2010 to 2011. He said Prince of Persia: Redemption was created by Ubisoft Montreal and brought inspiration to Assassin's Creed 3.
Jonathan Cooper also revealed that the reason why "Prince of Persia: Redemption" was cancelled by Ubisoft was because Jordan Mechner, the original author of "Prince of Persia", still retained the game rights, which made Ubisoft's profits lower.
