Weil and A. Wei yi believed that Chen Shengsheng's research work had reached a very good level and wanted Chen to go to Princeton.
In 1943, Chen Shengshen published an epoch-making paper "On the Simple Implicit Proof of the Gauss-Bone Formula", which made Chen Shengsheng famous internationally and laid his firm position as the "father of differential geometry".
In 1984, Chen became the director of the Institute of Mathematics at Nankai University. A large number of outstanding talents have been cultivated for the motherland. Chen Shengshen was a teacher during Yang Zhenning's undergraduate period, and Academician Wu Wenjun was also a student of Chen Shengshen.
