Recently, Salvatore Ferragamo launched the A Man's Story series of short films. Designed by the brand's creative director, Massimiliano Giornetti, and directed by photographer and filmmaker Francesco Carrozzini, the short film is dedicated to introducing the ideas of the brand's founder, Salvatore Ferragamo, into the digital age in a dynamic, innovative format.
In 1914, at the age of 16, Salvatore immigrated from southern Italy to Boston, WHERE one of his brothers worked in a shoe factory. Because the industrial form there was incompatible with Salvatore's philosophy of shoemaking and the sensibility of artisans, he persuaded his brothers to follow him to California and pioneered a custom footwear service. Within just five years, he had become a benchmark for Hollywood's top stars to offer luxury services, and the eponymous label Salvatore Ferragamo was born.
To celebrate this groundbreaking moment in the brand's history and to celebrate the remarkable brand builder, Salvatore Ferragamo has launched an online series of short films called A Man's Story, highlighting the concept of "sticking to yourself". The series features male star Douglas Booth, artist and entrepreneur Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, musician A$APRocky, photographer Ryan McGinley, alexander Gilkes, co-founder of online auction studio Paddle8, and New York Rangers hockey player Henrik Lundqvist and several other representatives from different fields with their own styles and unique personalities are interpreted, which is very modern and echoes with retro styles, making the short film fascinating. Ferragamo's extravagant lifestyle collection is presented in a new and surprising way.
