After 60 years of teaching as a doctor, Academician Guo Yinglu successfully studied China's first in vitro impact lithotripsy machine for the clinical treatment of kidney stones, and took the lead in carrying out minimally invasive surgery of urethral ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrooscopy and laparoscopy, and also edited the first "Endotracheological Urology", becoming the founder of this field in China. In addition, he also participated in the first case of cadaver kidney transplantation in China, edited the first kidney transplant monograph in China, and completed the first kidney transplant between identical twins. He also established the first urology research institute in China and founded the Andrology Society of the Chinese Medical Association, which promoted the vigorous development of urology.
