If we talk about the most worth watching this summer's drama, iQiyi's "Borderless City" should undoubtedly have a place. It is quite eye-catching by telling a story of survival on a desert island full of doubts and desperate circumstances in a number of sweet pet dramas and fairy tales. Among them, the group portrait characters with different personalities are one of the biggest highlights of this drama, and I am particularly impressed by Ah Xin, played by Ge Zheng.
Looking back at Ge Zheng's previous representative film and television works, whether it is zhang Meng, who is jealous and hateful in "Residual Sin",
Or the upright and brave Han Yue played in "Beauty Without Borders", etc.,
Most of these characters are warm-blooded and upright, and he is still the first challenge to a character like Ah Xin in "Borderless City" who does not talk much harshly and has a very complicated mind.
To this end, Ge Zheng obviously made some hard work.
First of all, in terms of appearance, compared with when he starred in "Residual Sin", Ge Zheng was obviously much thinner in "City of Innocence". He himself said that every time he receives a new character, he will first try to get closer to the character itself physically. This time, Presumably, it is deliberately to lose fat and weight, so that he becomes lean, just to make the character Ah Xin look more thin and small, and to prepare for the subsequent blackening contrast.
Secondly, Ge Zheng also thought about the characteristics of the character more thoroughly.
In an interview, he said that in his opinion, the role of Ah Xin is very selfish, and his selfishness is because he has been oppressed in real life for a long time. After arriving on the desert island, he suddenly has a chance to be reborn, he is too eager to prove himself, and as a result, he makes the wrong choice and takes the wrong path, which will lead to his incompatibility with some positive characters.
Therefore, when interpreting the role of Ah Xin, Ge Zheng did not deliberately design some exaggerated movements, but mainly relied on the retraction of micro-expressions, muscle twitches and crisp and neat body language to express the rich inner changes of the character. Thus, Ah Xin, a small character who seemed insignificant and easily overlooked at first, gradually "brushed" out of the sense of existence little by little, and completed the amazing counterattack transformation of a grassroots small person who was originally honest and responsible in the cruel and dangerous extreme living environment from "sheep" to "wolf".
In the early performances, Ge Zheng paid more attention to "receiving" and "collecting", for example, when he first appeared in Ah Xin's drama, he was just an ordinary train safety officer, and he would be scolded and reprimanded by the train manager Lao Lu at every turn. So Ge Zheng showed the humble side of the role when performing, acting timidly, only promises, and did not even dare to lift his head, so that everyone felt that Ah Xin seemed to be a good bully.
With the continuous advancement of the plot, the character's repressed and hidden wolf nature is gradually stimulated and revealed, at this stage, Ge Zheng begins to focus on explosive power in his performance, for example, in the scene where Ah Xin suddenly returns his hand to the seaside and flattens the old road, he makes the evil and cruel side of the character appear first, at the beginning he is still forbearing, and after he can't bear it, he suddenly fights back, the shot is fierce, with killing intent, and the inside and outside of the play are shocking.
When Ah Xin and one of the villains, Chen Li, confronted the two in the warehouse in order to compete for the ownership of food, Ge Zheng was even more full of aura, and after saying a meaningful sentence of "And I still can't eat enough", it was even more domineering, even in the face of Chen Li's actor- Liu Yijun, an old drama bone with a lot of performance experience, did not lose the field, officially showing the ambition, greed and fierceness of the role, and once again refreshed the audience's impression and cognition of Ah Xin.
After that, Ge Zheng's performance in the play became more and more calm.
Whether it is the hidden joy that means a lot when the car is found to be able to escape consciously,
Or the wanton bullying of Dr. Qin and his wife Anqi, who unfortunately became infected, and other weak people;

He grasped the subtle emotions of the role with a degree of relaxation, which made the role of Ah Xin hateful, and he wished that he would quickly receive a box lunch, but the more so, the more it showed the excellence of Ge Zheng's acting skills.
In the play, after the truth of Ah Xin's death to save Jiang Xue was revealed, Ge Zheng also posted a long farewell letter on his personal Weibo to review Ah Xin's life. In the last paragraph of the farewell letter, Ge Zheng wrote: "If someone loves Ah Xin, even if it is only for one day, maybe his life will be completely different. Therefore, the only thing that can overcome all evil in the world is love. "Full of affection, at the same time, the factors that are more worth exploring in the desperate situation and affect the choice are gently pointed out."
A little further back to the plot of the earlier period, when everyone first entered the hotel, Ah Xin repaired the hotel circuit, and when one light bulb after another lit up, Ah Xin was proud. Jiang Xue stood up and nodded his thanks to him with a smile on his face—among so many people, only one person gave him affirmation. At that moment, Ah Xin's smile seemed to be a little more shy. It was only here that I suddenly realized that this foreshadowing was buried early and carefully enough--Ah Xin probably liked Jiang Xue from that time.
Some villains can end up whitewashing, some don't; some villains can make people like, and some can't. But the villain played by Ge Zheng seems to have never pursued these two, does not deliberately whitewash, and does not care about being liked, which is more surprising. Perhaps as an actor who is a fan of the acting circle, Ge Zheng does not care about these at all. What he presents in front of the screen is to unify the character and the self, and to interpret the character beyond expectations, which is what he concentrates on achieving. Whitewashing? Pleasing? None of these are things a professional actor needs to consider. The villain consistently reversed, and the bad guy was so bad that the barrage filled the screen with discussions about Ah Xin, and Ge Zheng did it.
Now, "Borderless City" has ushered in the grand finale. In the play, Ah Xin's story ends; outside the play, Ge Zheng's acting path is continuing to extend. With the dream of a professional actor, what kind of surprises will Ge Zheng recreate on the road of daring to challenge the performance? What kind of emotional experience will his next film and television work bring to the audience? Personally, it is very curious and expectant.
