The inspection found that the imported goods were corrosive, smooth and the weight of each truck was light, and after identification, the goods were actually pyrite slag, and this mixture of substances belonged to the solid waste prohibited from import. Since then, a total of 5 shipments of goods from the same consignor, trading country and the same consignee have been seized consecutively, totaling 498,000 tons, which have been identified as solid wastes that are prohibited from being imported, which is also the largest batch of solid waste seized by the national customs in recent years. By the end of March this year, all of the solid waste had been returned.

Case 2: A case in which a crew member was punished for hiding and carrying ivory into the country

At the end of June 2020, Tianjin Lingang Customs received a tip that a Chinese crew member was carrying suspected ivory and ivory products on a foreign cargo ship docked at the dock. Case 3: Precise quarantine to prevent the import of the new crown epidemic

On February 22, 2021, a foreign cargo ship docked at Tianjin Lingang Wharf for repairs, carrying 37 foreign crew members. In accordance with the relevant requirements of epidemic prevention and control, Tianjin Lingang Customs officers carried out boarding quarantine on the ship and nucleic acid testing on all crew members.

The test results showed that the nucleic acid samples of 3 foreign crew members were positive. Lingang Customs immediately reported the situation to the higher-level departments and activated the joint prevention and control emergency mechanism. The three nucleic acid-positive crew members were transferred to the designated hospital for isolation and treatment, and other close-contact crew members were isolated on the ship, and were not allowed to disembark and enter the ship, and the ship was not allowed to carry out operational activities. In the end, the 3 people were diagnosed with asymptomatic covid-19 infection. Case 5: Pest detection in imported logs

Case 6: Seizure of a large number of vector organisms in an inbound container

On February 26, 2021, Tianjin Xingang Customs found a large number of cockroaches, flies and other vector organisms in an empty container entering from Southeast Asia during the inspection of incoming empty containers. The customs officer immediately collected the biological samples in the box and sent them to the laboratory for identification. After identification, the intercepted vector organisms are american cockroaches and maggot flies, both belong to typical vector organisms, easy to carry a variety of pathogens, is the vector of many human infectious diseases, such vector organisms with containers or rotten animal carcasses into the territory, will cause hidden dangers to the public health environment and the health and safety of the people. Case 7: The first investigation of the case of false reporting of the export of fireworks and firecrackers to eliminate potential safety hazards

On December 2, 2020, an enterprise in Handan City declared a batch of tape for export to Tianjin Dongjiang Customs, and the customs controlled the inspection, showing that the number of weight ratios was abnormal. After inspection, it was found that the two 40-foot containers, in addition to a small amount of tape at the door of the box, contained a large number of fireworks packed in cartons without any protective measures, weighing about 48 tons. The customs at the scene also found that a batch of ceramic cups declared for export by the same consignor in advance still existed in the port area, and the hiding method was similar to that of the first two containers. A total of about 72 tons of fireworks and firecrackers were seized for false declarations, which was the first time that the export fireworks and firecrackers were detected and issued at the Tianjin port. At present, these fireworks and firecrackers have been destroyed according to law.

Fireworks and firecrackers belong to the inflammable and explosive class of dangerous goods, and there are great safety risks in the illegal export of illegal reports and hidden methods.

Case 8: Imported transgenic vegetable oil passed off as non-GMO

In June 2020, a company declared to the Customs of Tianjin Free Trade Zone to import a batch of virgin soybean crude oil (non-GMO), weighing more than 2,000 tons. Tianjin Customs will sample soybean crude oil and send it to the laboratory for testing according to the customs declaration of goods and the loading of the ship. The test found that the batch of goods contained genetically modified ingredients, which was inconsistent with the declaration content of non-GMO, and there was no agricultural genetically modified organism safety certificate or relevant approval documents issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, and the on-site customs made a decision to return the soybean oil, and the original ship of the goods was returned out of the country.
