Mark Selby: The game against O'Sullivan is never favored, he can't beat Mark Selby when he's in good shape

Snooker's second-largest ranking tournament, the British Championship, will be held at York Barbican Centre in the UK from 28 To December 10, and defending champion Lester Clown Mark Selby said last year's final was one of the best finals of his career.

Selby is one of only six players to have won at least twice in three major competitions (World Championship, British Championship and Masters).

Selby, along with O'Sullivan, Hendry, Davis, Higgins and Parot, is the only player to win the World Championships and The British Championships in the same calendar year.

Selby currently has 13 ranking titles, tied for 6th place in history with Ding Junhui. Behind Hendry (36), O'Sullivan (30), Higgins (29), Davis (28) and Williams (19).

Selby won five ranking titles in 2016/17 to tie hendry and Ding Junhui records, and he received almost £1 million in prize money in the season.

He is one of only four players to successfully defend his title at Crucible.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Selby said: "It felt great to play against Ronnie in the final, and it was even more special in the 'Big Three' and now I've met him in the finals of all three competitions, which is amazing. ”

"I felt relaxed when I played against him because I knew I was the underdog side. It doesn't really matter how he (O'Sullivan) does in the season, you're never going to be good against Ronnie because you never know when he's going to play. ”

"When he's in good shape, sometimes he's invincible. We all played our top skills. ”

"I remember being chased from a 7-2 lead to 8-7 and still feeling relaxed. I didn't miss one opportunity after another. He scored a long red ball and then won in a lot of innings, and I really didn't make too many mistakes, so I couldn't be too myself. ”

"I thought, if he wins the title next I'll applaud him and say he's doing so well this time. But then when I got the chance, I still grasped it well and ended the battle with two shots. ”
