Zeng Wanzhong (1894-1968 AD), also spelled Dingming, was a native of Daguan County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. After graduating from the Yunnan Daowutang general school class, he participated in the anti-Qing revolution. After the Xinhai Revolution, he participated in the movements of defending the country and protecting the law. He successively served as a company commander, battalion commander, regimental commander, brigade commander, and division commander of the Dian Army, and led his troops to participate in the Northern Expedition. After 1935, he was promoted to lieutenant general. He served as the commander of the Seventh Division of the Third Army of the Northwest "Suppression of Bandits" General Headquarters, the commander of the First Column, and the commander of the Third Army. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he was the commander-in-chief of the Fifth Army. In 1942, he was appointed "Deputy Commander of the First Theater". In May 1945, he was appointed as a member of the Central Supervision Commission of the Kuomintang, and in the same year he retired to Yunnan and participated in the founding of the Yunnan Provincial Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee. Later, he served as a member of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Central Unity Committee of the Kuomintang
