This article totals 1415 words and is about 5 minutes to read

[Zi Yue: If I am threesome, I will be taught by me.] Choose what is good and follow it, and change it from the bad. 】

This sentence comes from the Analects of Volume IX of the Qunshu Zhizhi.

If you go in three, you will have my teacher

In the general Analects, this sentence is "Threesomes, there will be my teacher." In this version of the "Qunshu Zhizhi", it is said: "If I do threesomes, I will be taught by me." "The 'three of us' are three people, including myself, and there are two people besides me." Line", some annotations are interpreted as words and deeds, and some are interpreted as walking lines.

"Choose what is good and follow it, and change it from what is not good." The general saying is that in addition to me, there are two other people, one is a good person and the other is a bad person, and both of them are my teachers. Learn his good from the good man, and learn from the evil man to avoid his evil. So, both good and evil are teachers we can learn from. This kind of talk is very intriguing, we met many people from morning to the party, some people are good people, some people are evil people. If we are good at learning, whether we are good people or bad people, good people and evil people, there are places where we can learn to improve, and we can be our teachers.

The Analects also say: "See the wise and think together, see the unwise and introspect within." "The man who sees the virtuous is not jealous, but learns from him and looks up to him; and the man who sees the less virtuous does not ridicule, despise, or oppose him in his heart, but immediately reflects on himself to see if he has a similar fault."

The second theory is He Yan's note in the Commentary on the Analects: "Saying that I am a three-person person, I have no wisdom or foolishness, and I choose what is good and follow it, and I am not good at changing it, so I am impermanent." The three of us originally had no distinction between virtuous and foolish, "at the beginning of man, nature is good", everyone's nature is pure and pure, because the environment of the day after tomorrow is different, the pollution is different, so that some people look virtuous, and some people appear dull. Liu Baonan explained this sentence in the Analects of Justice: "He Zhuan seems to take 'deeds' as 'words and deeds', and the words and deeds of three people are not virtuous and foolish, and those who are good and unwholesome are as they see, choose the good and follow and change, not to say that one person is good, and one person is not good." This explanation is more rounded. He believes that He Yan's annotation seems to interpret this "action" not as a walking action, but as a word and deed. There is no distinction between the words and deeds of the three people, and the so-called good and the bad are seen in everything, sometimes he does good, sometimes he does evil. That is to say, this is in terms of a person's good and unwholesome, so in fact there are no absolute good people and evil people, and everyone may have good deeds and sometimes have evil thoughts, which is even better, that is, to talk about things regardless of people. When we see his good deeds, we learn from him; when we see his unwholesome deeds, we reflect on ourselves and avoid such evil deeds. This teaching is the best, people are not sages, no one can be blameless, a person will not be all good, nor will it be all bad, we learn from each person his good, avoid his evil, so there is no fixed teacher.

The last way of saying is that in two people, for the good, we learn from him; for the bad, we have to correct him. This statement is not advisable, because friends can only correct it if they have enough friendship, and shallow friendship cannot be said to be deep. In the Analects, it is said: "If you believe and then advise, if you do not believe, you will think that you have slandered yourself." "Friends must first establish a relationship of trust, and then see his faults before they can advise him." If the relationship of trust between two people has not yet been established, and if you see his fault and go to him, he will think that you are slandering him, he cannot accept it, and he will form a vendetta with you. Moreover, the most important thing for Chinese to study and do learning is to "do what you can't do, but ask for yourself" and "if you are a true cultivator, you will not see the world." Seeing others unpleasantly is that one's own cultivation is not enough. A true practitioner does not fail to see the faults of the worldly people and does not understand the faults of the worldly people, but even if he sees them, he does not take these things to heart and pollutes his own pure mind. Therefore, true cultivators focus their efforts, minds, and energies on correcting their own mistakes, so how can they see the faults of others and correct others? When you see someone else's fault, you should immediately reflect on yourself and whether you have similar faults. Take the faults of others as a mirror of yourself, see the faults of others, and immediately reflect on yourself, so that you can always recognize your own faults. It can be seen that the distinction between all saints is whether they can learn or not, and whether they are good at learning or not.
